Is RCB stands for Royal Chokers Bangalore?

RCB lost to Mumbai Indians in the Final of CLT20. They were chasing 140! Now this is not the first time they have lost in a final. Losing finals is ok and it happens but not winning a single final? South Africa is called Chokers in International Cricket. Is RCB Chokers of Club Cricket? And another interesting point is Gayle failed and RCB slumped! They were trying to prove that RCB is not just about Gayle but records speak a different story. There is no player other then Kohli who has played anything worthwhile. Dilshan and Gayle are the only others who helped them reach final. So RCB needs to build a team rather than win on one or two individuals if they really want to win any final in future! Till then they will be official Chokers of Club Cricket! Share your views! Happy Mylotting!

Yes, they are becoming chokers in the finals. They played very well both in the IPL and CL T20 to reach the finals and then they choked. Ironically they have a South African coach in Ray Jenning. :) Having said that the Chennai pitch was not to their liking and MI had a advantage because they had played previously there and knew the pitch pretty well. Cheers! Ram

I think in the final say the Bangalore pitch is best suited for their style. They are a batting heavy unit and that is why they are better off on belter pitches. But in the slow pitches such as in Chennai, they are not very effective with their weak bowling. Cheers! Ram

Ya, I too thought about it! RCB did have many South African players as foreign players since IPL1. In some matches they did field 4 South Africans as Steyn, Merve, Kallis and Boucher! And adding to that coach is also from South Africa. But main problem is their bowling is too weak and their middle order batsmen just failed in most of the matches.

Hi wismay, I agree with you, R.C.B. can well be termed as chockers in club cricket just as South Africa are termed as chockers in International cricket. This is not the first time R.C.B. has failed at the last hurdle despite having very good team. Apart from Gayle, Dilshan and Kohli, R.C.B. has got a powerful player in Saurabh Tiwary who can single handedly win the match on his day. They have also got upcoming player in Arun Karthik who hit last ball of the match for a six to win the match for R.C.B. and book a place in semi final. But nothing worked for them in finals despite a small target. As about building a strong team,R.C.B. has always tried to get best players in the business but they have not delivered to expectations.

Yes you are right. And also, they win on batting pitches like in bangalore. Their bowling is too weak. And in chennai batting was not as easy as it was in bangalore and bangalore stadium is a bit smaller, I mean the distance to the boundary line. In the past also they have failed to shine in the finals.

True that RCB is dependent on Gayle and when he fails, RCB fails. Now it is the right time, RCB builds a strong team to win the club matches especially when it have to be tough chasing.

Yes their problem is that the middle order batsmen are not at all performing. If top three batsmen play well they win or else they can't even make 120 or 130!
