You don't have to specialise in SEO to be a freelance writer: I've only written half a dozen SEO articles in almost three years of freelance work. SEO has become a lot simpler since the Panda update as well - at least for writers (not so much for those poor, long-suffering webmasters!). Hmm, sites for freelance work. OK. Lots of those. First off, may I suggest dropping in to my blog and reading the 'Back to Basics' series? As a new writer, those should help you decide what kind of earnings model you'd like to use and there's a list of resources at the end. The latest post is also about the very basic parts of SEO. As for sites, it depends how you want to earn. There's a very good discussion about starting as a freelancer here: http://www.mylot.com/w/discussions/2551937.aspx which also has a link in response 1 to even more discussion about it. Neither of those covers iWriter, since it's a new site that someone will no doubt mention. There's a discussion about that one over here: http://www.mylot.com/w/discussions/2570511.aspx I'm no pro (yet) though I make a decent part-time salary from freelance writing and have a book coming out soon (once I can find a good editor for it and someone to do the cover art). I've been around the block, as they say, so if I can be of help please ask your questions!

Hi SpikeTheLobster, I just wonder if you could give me some site that offer free online course in Writing especially in SEO Writing. I'm really stuck for now, don't know where to start. I'll be happy and appreciate if you can give me one website for free. I already tried to subscribe for some Writing Tutorial at first they say that it's totally free but after a couple module they are asking for a payment.

My guess - and this really is a guess - is that there won't be any. It's too big a subject to do it entirely for free. That said, there are definitely places where people will help, such as writers' communities and so on. I don't do any of that, so I don't know specifics I'm afraid. You could try searching for "writing community" or "writer community" or "author community" and see if there's a forum somewhere. SEO writing isn't something that can be taught, as such, I don't think. SEO itself is a collection of concepts which you apply to your writing. So you'd learn to write (which you can already do!), then learn how SEO works and implement it. For that, I can help: check out Peter Hoggan's free course on HubPages (http://peterhoggan.hubpages.com). (Not a referral.)

you have good points.. I think we must sharpen our writing skills on many ways. One of the most favorite is becoming a freelancer. However, become freelance is really difficult nowadays since too many freelancer compare with the available jobs.. SEO writing is one of the key element if you want to expertise in this writing skills..Meaning, anyone should have something in their mind about and settle everything by then..I think better to wait after they finish..

Hi John, just join any writing site, and read through the articles by experienced writers. Most people are willing to share their experience. In every writing sites, you will find people who manage to earn a hundred dollars or more per month. If you take a look at Associated Content, you can find many writers with more than 20 million page views. They are the ones who write consistently and with right seo techniques.
