Sports Talk

Another Sunday went by, and again one of my local affiliates that carries football was 32 minutes behind in programming. Quite a few times, this can be attributed to sports talk after a game. I fail to see the point of discussing sports on network TV. You can talk all you want before a sports contest, and it will not change which athletes the teams play in the game. You can talk all you want after the event is over, and it will not change the outcome. To me it's like closing the barn door after the cow escaped; it won't stop what has happened, and in fact if the animal returns home, it will be a hindrance because it can't get in! Now there are specific stations on TV that are 24/7/365 sports, and I don't have a problem with that. But when the major networks delay broadcast shows for sports. I think it is wrong for both viewers and advertisers. Viewers don't get to see the shows when they expect, and advertisements are not airing in the time slot the advertisers expect. Keep the sports talk on sports specific channels, and leave the broadcast networks alone. What do you think??
