goodbye The Simpsons?

October 11, 2011 10:50pm CST
There are rumors spreading that The Simpsons will soon be off the air, due to production problems. I'm just very sad that this family show that most of us loved will soon say goodbye. Even though they're full of fun and laughter the show also gives moral lesson to us. Especially Lisa's episodes. And I love their love and hate relationship as siblings. I hope that this will not be the last peak to The Simpsons show. :(

While it might be nice that the Simpsons are continuning I wouldn't mind if they retired. Sure the animation of the Simpsons is better these days. Though it's not really fun these days. Although that's not to say all new episodes are bad, but a lot of them, I haven't been fond of. The Simpsons movie was good. I think they should try and make the show funny again, the show has been going on for a long time now. Some would say it has ran its course. I kinda agree with that statement. Still time will tell what ultimatley happens.

If you told me that 10 years ago I would be sad to hear the Simpsons would be gone. But nowadays I don't find them funny. The Simpsons has not made me laugh in years. They have gotten overly preachy over the past decade. What happened to the random hilarity and craziness which we all label as being The Simpsons?

It's good to hear that the Simpsons will continue airing. I really love this show. I've watched them since I was a little kid. I still watch them from time to time. I guess if you have too many responsibilities you won't have time for the things that you wanna do most.. like watching the Simpsons! :D

I haven't heard this rumor. I hope it's not true. I love the simpsons. They have been around forever and it's still funny. Eventually I'd love to get all the seasons on dvd. When my husband and I were first dating we couldn't afford cable for awhile and we used to watch a vhs tape full of episodes of the simpsons that my parents had taped.

The Simpsons like the Futurama will always continue. The fact that Futurama continued with movies until it's popularity allowed for it to return to television shows that the Simpsons will survive. There have always been issues with the shows now with syndication it seems that the show is always on, even if it is repeats. Simpsons has been around for 23 years, it has been extended another 2 but hopefully, unless the writers and the cast get tired of the characters they will last a lot more. That is the advantage of cartoons in a normal show, the children would have grown up, the city would have changed but here, even though the images have changed over the years, it is still basically the same.

From the response above, I think the show will not go off the air because the talents supposedly agreed on a paycut. And even if they stopped production, the show is already so iconic that it will surely live on forever on syndication.

I really wonder how long this show has been on the air. I remember being young and watching it. I am guessing its been on at least 20 years. Its had a very long run if it ends it seems like it will have lasted longer anyway then other shows.

I dont think this show would just go away like that because it has been so popular for a very long time and many people would not be pleased

Good news! The show will continue. The cast has agreed to get a 50% pay cut or else the show will be put off. Damn these corporate sharks. Anyway the laughter continues! Been watching this since I was a kid. The memories.

I'm glad that they took a paycut! I'm sure that with the money they earn from the show, the 'corporate sharks' would rather spend the money on the writers and not on the voice talents. They could always find other voice-sound-alikes, but the writers should stay the same to maintain continuity.
