Difference between hiding and lying

Can anyone tell me what is the difference between hiding and lying .... because I thing its better to hurt with truth then comforting from lying and hiding .

For me, hiding is refusing to face the truth and to lie at the same time. While, lying is the truth through lying. And yes, its better to tell the TRUTH than face the consequences after you're done hiding and lying.

"hiding" not always connote "lying" because the both are derived from two different words, "hide" and "lie". Similarly, the meaning of the two words are also different, "hiding" have meaningful "do" - cover up something that has not been known by many people, while "lying" have meaningful "do" - cover up something that is already well known by many people or that have been foreseeable by the person who will be lied
