Using boiling water to kill animals

I have seen some posts here where people have caught rats in cages, and used boiling water to slowly kill them. They even go so far as to describe their screaming, and actually laugh about this. What do you think about this behaviour?

People who hurt animals have a tendency to do so with humans too. There is actually a scientific/pyschological basis that murderers actually went through mutilating small animals, sometimes pets, when they were young. So I would stay as far away from these people who find some kind of sick pleasure seeing helpless animals suffer. I have seen my neighbor do the same with the cats here in my street. I remember one Christmas where he was drunk and he took to beating a small kitten that had unfortunately wandered to his property. When his friends tried to stop him, he said that the kitten was stealing food from his kitchen. Animals will be animals, and it is up to us humans to prevent them from stealing our food. Of course if you leave your food unattended and know that there are cats, chances are they will eat it. This neighbor is actually now living overseas but before he did he was kind of arrested by our neighborhood police for beating his wife and kids. So, I would not be surprised if these people who laugh at screaming rats while being tortured enjoy abusing people too.

That is extremely disgusting and I have never heard about people doing this! Is it sad that it doesn't surprise me!? People have been doing extremely cruel things to animals FOREVER! I think people that do this are suffering from extreme mental issues, and need help. I think they deserve jail time too. Anyone that ever chooses to PROLONG another living things suffering when they don't have to are sick and deserve the same treatment!

Dear friend, I feel that pain is too unbearable...what if these are done one humans. I hope it would be one of the most cruel things doing to any living things that have feeling of pain. Moreover, such acts to bring more cruel to the minds of those who get enjoyment from it. I had heard that crabs are put into boiling water so as peal its cover easily, it would be really a cruel act especially those who consider humanity and believe in God..

That's very mean. I know that rats are considered pests but why do they have to torture it? And they seem to be enjoying watching it too. There should be other means to eradicate these pests without torturing them.

I tried to enlighten them by coming up with a few other methods of possible, more humane eradication, all they did was make long-winded excuses. =(

I think this is a perfect example of animal cruelty. But then again, if these animals are pests, then we need to get rid of them.

That is an extremely inhumane way to kill an animal. I know that they spread disease and sure, they are pretty annoying, but killing them in a slow and painful manor?! That's seriously sick. Now I'm not saying this because I am a huge lover of animals, I am saying it as a perfectly honest answer that even some people that find rats annoying or disease filled rodents would say the same.

Rats have a life too!Just because they are creepy(for some)it doesnt mean we should torture them! They are pets/animals and I believe they deserve a better way to die or not get killed at all. They could throw them out or atleast hit them with something to kill them instantly but boiled water? Now thats really mean.Who would do such a thing to an animal?I wouldnt.Happy mylotting everyone.
