Salary increase!

I was surprised when our HR asked all employees to enter the conference room for an urgent meeting. There, they announced that we will be having a Salary increase starting next payday. Of course, the adjustment would be based on the employee's performance. We were so surprised but not that ecstatic about it. At least we all had our share of salary increase. It's not much but it's a start :)

Congrats to you, hope that you get a good increase! Ive been thinking if this is a Japan base company. I used to work also in a Japanese company base here in the Philippines and every year we get also an increase based on our performance for the last year. But unfortunately I didn't make a good increase because of my superior being jealous or envy at my work. So I only got a very small increase. Hope this wouldn't happen to you. By the way I completed a one year and six months perfect attendance in it. And even though I put an effort about it I didn't get a fairly increase.

Lol! The one year perfect attendance thing reminds me of my office mate. He also completed a year with perfect attendance. We do give "Perfect Attendance" recognition here though :D It's not a Japan-based company but it's an international company :D Our headquarter/corporate office's here in Philippines though :D Our CEO/president's Chinese and he's real nice :) our VP or EVP is Filipino though :)

Yes can you imagine getting an increase of 2 digit on my daily salary, it really hurts to put up my effort on that company and because some coworker didn't like me he manipulated some things and just gave me a poor performance. But thanks to them now I enjoy working at home and even earning more than what they earned in there.

I've been wanting to have some "work-at-home" jobs but I'm afraid that I won't be able to do it XD There are a lot of distractions at home and I might end up doing those "distractions" rather than my actual work. LOL! Good for you then

Congratulations! I am also expecting to get my salary increase by the end of the month. I was hired 8 months ago by my company for our special project and that project went on very well, as a compliment, I am now a regular employee and I will be receiving a salary adjustment, which they do not usually give to new employees. I am excited about it and I am planning to add that amount to my savings.

It's great to have salary increases! I've always pride myself as a good worker. And I've always expected my merit increase yearly. Sometimes even twice a year, if I've known myself to be exceptionally good. But with the latest recession, it's been hard getting an increase. So, I did what I had to do, to meet my expectation of increasing salary: I moved to a new job with a higher pay! Congratulations on your pay increase!

congratulations and i am so jealous that you are in a company as good as that! for me, i am still struggling with a meager salary and our ceo refuses to give us that increase and i dont know why. maybe because he is very greedy and i know karma will get him soon.

It's good that you will get a salary increase. Maybe you are working hard and that the company's productivity also increased. That's really a good news for all of you there. It's also good to know that there are companies that still can afford to give a salary increase especially at this time. Based on what you shared , your increase is based on your performance. That's a very fair and just treatment for all. You are lucky to be in that kind of company and with a good personnel management. Congratulations! That should always be the case. Employees' performance will be rewarded so that they will be motivated to do better that will have a positive effect to the image of the company. It's also one way of encouraging people to become pro-active in whatever endeavor he company is going to have.

What a great news! Your company is so gernous. As today everything's price is higher and higher. It is great that your salaries can be increased so that your income will remain the same after deducting the increasing cost. I love China

That's so true. Actually during the announcement, this was pointed out by our EVP. With today's inflation, the least our company can do is provide us with a small additional money to help us in our daily expenses.

You got that right :) They FINALLY took the inflation rate into consideration and decided it's high time for us to get an increase even if our office's not doing that great :) Thanks a lot for the comment

Congratulations! That is awesome. At least your job is offering raises. My last one was 3 years ago, and I recently asked for a bump. As usual, we were denied, with them saying there was no money. (I even offered other options where they wouldn't be money out of pocket- denied) I even thought about mentioning to my boss that with inflation, & us employees making less every year, then my production would match what I make! I make less, i produce less! I just find it so frustrating that I have been with this company and they wouldn't even work with me. I don't ask for much- just to be fair and compromise with me. But, I hear that is how some employers are since the economic downturn. It's great that your employers at least gave you the option! congrats again!

Thanks so much! I hope you get your increase soon :( Increase, even a bit of it, is really needed especially nowadays since inflation is hitting everyone big time. The increase will definitely boost the employee's performance and motivation to work better for the company :) Thanks again for the comment :D

congratulations to you and to your colleagues! a small amount added is still an increase. you are blessed to be receiving an increase when a lot of companies are terminating their employees, or having problems, or forever terminate their business.

Thanks a lot! Your words are so true especially in this time of economy crisis. A lot of company are experiencing recession, thus they are firing some of their employee. Our company is still holding on. I'm proud to say that no employee downsizing happened in our company :)

Good for you. I am hoping that we also had a surprise increase also but I doubt if it will happen. Increase of salary here is based on the profit of the company and not with the performance. Ive been working for 2 years now yet I only had an increase which was not that much for the load of work they had given to me.
• Philippines
13 Oct 11
Same here! Our salary increase is always based on employee's performance AND company's profit. Actually our company's international stations are not doing that good. Most of our company's income came from these stations. It's just that our CEO is real nice and always stick with his principles (he calls it "People Principle") on awarding deserving employees, thus the salary increase. This is my increase after 2 years and I've been working in the same company for 5 years :)

This is just so true! I often complain that our company's real slow on giving incentives but this one is something that surprised me the most. And they did it at the start of the day :D That's why most of my office mates are grinning stupidly from ear-to-ear! And that includes me XD LOOOL!!!

hi, Congratulations for your pay increase. Salary hike depends on the company to company and we do have a policy of increments in the start of financial year i.e. April and the percentage is decided by the immediate boss, review and finalized by HR then...
• Philippines
13 Oct 11
Oh, that's cool :) at least you have a policy for increase :D We really don't have a policy when it comes to salaries so whenever we have an increase, most of the time, it'll come as a surprise :P
