I have been in Canada for more than 3 years and I am eligible to apply for citizenship. My wife and kids need one more year to be eligible. I know that my kids are automatically granted citizenship if I am successful in my application because they are all under 18. My old passport from the country I originally came from is expiring in a couple of months. Since I plan to go to the US next next year. I am not sure if I should wait for my wife to have lived here 3 years or start the application for my citizenship or just renew my passport since I have multiple US entry visa. Any suggestions? Thanks.

I am Canadian, and I can honestly say this is the best country in the world to live. If you are elugabke, and if this is where you all want to live, them by all means, become a citizen!
