Yet another Obama war... Is this the 3rd? 4th? Maybe 5th?

Prs. Obama informed Congress that he has deployed 100 to Uganda, South Sudan, the Central African Republic, and the Democratic Republic of the Congo. Their mission is to act as "advisers" in these countries against a group called "The Lord's Resistance Army". He says there is a national security need here, but didn't go into any details. While there are atrocities and even what can be considered crimes against humanity going on there, I wonder what national security need Obama is referring to. http://content.usatoday.com/communities/theoval/post/2011/10/obama-dispatches-100-troops-to-uganda/1

You mean he has deployed 100 people? In that case they are definitely advisers, as that is not sufficiently large enough to be a fighting force all the best urban

Sorry, but the term "advisers" is a diplomatic term, not a military term. When we train, we train for combat, when we deploy, we deploy prepared for combat. When we deploy with full combat readiness, we expect we'll have to use it. Adviser has long been a term used by politicians to place troops in areas we will be expected to fight, if necessary. I've never heard the term used in any deployment that we weren't going fully expecting to get shot at.

Isn't that just awful--someone vowing to end the war in the Middle East making new wars and not even getting approval from Congress! I wonder if they'll try to take back the Peace Prize? They certainly should. I wonder, what aspect of national security is being threatened by Uganda?

Well, in fairness, he did inform Congress on this one, in accordance with the War Powers Act. We'll see if he follows up with a full withdrawal in 60 days if Congress does not approve the action, and the funding.
