Would you watch the show without McDreamy

Patrick Dempsey will be checking out of the show after the current 8th season of the show. He is one of the shows last standing originals, who may have found his closure with the leading medical drama on ABC.
The decision seems to be more of a career choice rather than financial.
Rumors are that the 8th season might also be the last for the show itself - which was the buzz much before Patrick's decision to quit after the current season.

Yes, I would! :) As long as they give us great stories and characters, McDreamy leaving wouldn't make me not watch the show. Shows like ER, NYPD Blue managed to be on TV for years despite some characters leaving. I guess, it's up to the writers to create amazing storylines. Grey's Anatomy has really improved since the first few seasons. :)

I could care less I have not been watching the show for a while it started going down hill a long time ago. Even if he left the show I would still not watch it I agree with one of the other posts about them all switching parteners it is sick.

yea at a point of time the show was really getting boring and slightly confusing to catch up on when they were all just swinging partners but eventually it is now safe to say that the show is back on track.. but who knows for how long :(

Shows like Greys Anatomy have the advantage of having a huge cast and like ER they can move actors that were predominantly in supporting roles into the forefront. Patrick Dempsey leaving would change the dynamic also depending on how they wrote him out, when they nearly killed his character in the season 6 finale, I actually wondered if they would let his character move on as he was working on a few films like Enchanted and Maid of Honour, now he is in the new Transformers he is pretty busy, if he leaves all the best. I really like Kevin McKidd's work so I hope they don't destroy Owen as a character.
I think the season just ended but he is still there in the show.

Im so sad that he left the show. Actually in that show many people die :/ I wish they could just take the characters off without killing them. I mean one could take a trip. other could decide to change career or something else. But dying? Many characters die in that show and some of them are really important to the show like McDreamy.

I havent been watching the show ever since Dr Burke got axed. It just was not the same without him. I find Grey's Anatomy nowadays, tiresome. Everybody seems to be trading partners with everybody. It should be renamed- Grey's Checking out THE anatomy. They should get it over with and start a medical drama with a fresh angle. They have bled this one out.

well, I don't think that McDreamy is essential for the show. That's why, with or without him, I would certainly watch the show. Grey's Anatomy rocks!
