No gentleman

All remember that Dhoni had recalled Ian Bell even when he was declared controversially out in the Test match just a few weeks ago. It was the question of a wicket that Dhoni happily agreed to not being given out. But in yesterday's match, England captain Cook was so unhappy with the extra run that Dhoni and Praveen Kumar ran. He walked up to Dhoni to speak his mind. It totally agreeable to run the second run as it was just a coincidence that the ball hit Praveen Kumar. Either way, if the ball had hit the stumps, batsmen run for runs. Did you notice how irritated Cook looked when Dhoni was signalling with his hand. What a shame it is to fight for a run with the man who just a few days ago allowed an English batsman to come back to bat again. Englishmen - even if it is your game, remember, we are the Champs. In fact you never were even once.

Now, that's the core point you have raised. Dhoni is indeed a gentleman on the field and his moves are never false. He will never put across a false and negative example before his fans. Cheers !!!

Dhoni appears correct on both the occassions...one side magnanimous and the other side merciless. That is the game.

India has always been showing the correct way of playing cricket and yet never got the due credit at the international level, I think. Against Australia at the Sydney Test too, India was cheated. That cannot be game always.

I think it is only fair to continue running if the ball hits a batsman and goes away. It is not the batsman who has asked the fielder to throw the ball. So I do not think why it is expected that the batsmen should not run. I think there is nothing wrong in this. Cheers! Ram

You are right. The batsman can continue to keep running no matter where the ball gets deflected. Dhoni will never do a wrong move on the field.

Cricket definition as a gentleman game nowadays are not appropriately set.Everyone is doing anything for their interest. Some times exceptional things happens and that's Dhoni showed but same you couldn't expect from the English team also .

Yes, it is right that for one's interest players are doing behaving according to their own ways. But a game like cricket was and still is known as a gentleman's game. That is the spirit after all. If that was not so, why the hell Dhoni needed to call back Bell - to ring bells in our heads? On the contrary, at the Englishmen should show the spirit. It is their game after all.

Well this is just the second match of Cook in India and he is desperate to improve record of England in India, as we all know last two series have been won by India by margin of 5-0 and 5-1.Obviously he was frustrated with all that beating and hence the reactions.Dont expect much from these English and Aus players, they always expect gentleman like behavior and sportsman spirit from other teams while they dont follow that themselves ever.

For your detailed info about the mutual series I gave you the best response. Indeed your's is one. I remember the 5-0 whitewash that India handed the Englishmen. Yuvi had gone berserk in one of the matches with a belt to his waist. I don't remember more than that. But I agree with you that the Englishmen are trying to prove that the win back in England were no fluke. But yes, it is hard to defeat India in India and Mr. Cook will learn it the hard way.

Though i had not seen this match but heard this indecent from you here only. If it is true then it is shame on England and it's captain cook. It not matter of runs but it the matter of spirit of cricket that English had forgotten with the victory they got due to rains in England. Here they want the same and not getting right so they are frustrated. I totally agree with you that if ball hits stumps then batsman can run then why not when it hits batsman???? Ask cook what he would had done??? Same and more agressivly. Shame on English They are shameless in all manner. "Englishmen - even if it is your game, remember, we are the Champs. In fact you never were even once." Quite a funny lines hahahaha! oh!! i can't stop my laughing

You can believe me about my statements and descriptions here. I am a gentleman when it comes to cricket. Yes, I agree with you that it is not a matter of a single run. But it is a matter of the spirit. Had England lost the match by one run, then that could have become a point of discussion. But when Dhoni did not mind the one wicket of Ian Bell, why on earth was Cook fuming for one run. So poor, Mr. Cook, learn to cook the laws of cricket and digest them.
