Why eggs are in oval shape?

I love eggs more. I take two eggs daily one for lunch and another one for dinner as i mean to say i cant eat food without having eggs. Sometimes i fight with my mom when she wont brings eggs from store. Today i buy eggs that time i feel how sweet it is. As one living being is inside may be hen or chicken in its small age. But im confused of thinking why eggs are in oval shapes. Whats the secret behind those eggs shapes. Friends kindly share ur views?

i think many if not all natural things come with a golden proportion / golden ratio and i think eggs is one of them. Maybe nature just like this proportion so much, so almost everythings come in this proportion...

Oh its really confused mathematical proportion that i cant understand. I think i dont get better idea for my question. Let the answer would be simple and start for me to understand.

What u mean of golden ratio or golden proportion. Does proportion affects the sizes of eggs. Whats the link between proportion and birth of birds chickens etc.

They are shaped to be easier for the birds to lay. More aerodynamic so to say!

Not only for birds but i had seen some animals are laying eggs in oval rounded shapes. Why cant they lay square or rectangle typed eggs even they are big in sizes

all eggs are no in oval shape,some are round also.What can we say why the earth moves round the sun in its orbit,in an oval shape,it is because we can get different seasons and different climatic conditions.
What can any one say that why is something like this and somehting like that,it is because it should be like that,now where can we find ansewrs for such queries.

I accept that i had seen some eggs in round shape. But who fix that eggs could be in oval rounded shape. Whats the scientific reason behind those stuff. As u said earth moves around sun in oval shape because so that we can experience different climatic conditions. Whats the benefit of eggs in oval rounded shapes?

Yes god is genius upon making his creatures. But simply im asking whats the point there to make it sizes as oval rounded. May be its true if its in different sizes when its gathered in one places there may be chances of broken.

Its also controversy question peoples often talking about. Egg is a formal birth outlay of chicken. May be if the eggs gets matured its comes as chicken. Really i too dont know whats comes first may be we can start new discussion about that next time.

For humans its ok god created eve and adam then they collide childrens are born. As per animals specially for chickens why god cant create eggs if he can create chickens first. May be creating a sperm is difficult than creating a human. As same as creating eggs are difficult than creating a chickens. God can do what he feels difficult because he is an almighty.

Its funny comment that its true that eggs are oval because its mother also be oval when its born. And its also like chicken of small body so laying in oval small shapes.

Because it woudld be too painful to lay a square egg. 
Sorry couldn't resist. The reason is to do with the muscles used when the bird is laying the egg, contracting to push it out forming the shape of the then soft shell.

Yes may be if its in square or rectangle shape it would be painful for birds and chickens to lay eggs. So u thinks birds are forming the oval shape to release the eggs in oval type.

Upon reading other responses this give me a good laugh really.
Yah,imagine how painful it is for the chicken laying a square egg, or triangular one.
But,whatever the reason why it is oval in shape, I also like egg...but not everyday :)

Yes if u imagine that chicken would lay square or rectangle shaped eggs it would be painful for them to lay. Even all moms got painful when they given birth to a child. How can we imagine that a child is born from that place. May be i seen a cow given birth to a calf in real it may be coming from its little back hole. I really see those cow shouted a lot when its gives birth. So its a pain no doubt about it

I too loved to eat eggs until i started to get migraine.I used to make omelette with 2 eggs for lunch.But when i started to get frequent headache as a result of being allergic to eggs i have no option but to quit eating eggs.But still i eat it once or twice a week because for me it is too good to avoid.

Eggs are healthy to eat than to eat chickens and meat. But if ur affecting with allergy i advice u to stop eating oil items specially omelette.

I think the size for laying doesnt matter because some small birds also laying eggs in same shape as some big birds also laying in small shapes. May be we all see dinosaurs movies in that i see a giant animal also laying oval shaped eggs why cant it lays square because that animal can tolerate huge sizes.

Yes question was somewhat interesting but answers are different. Science had answer for every questions i think its had perfect answer why birds hens laying eggs in oval rounded shape. May be people was going to find it out because of this discussion.

Im claiming to be what would be a particular reason why eggs are in oval rounded shapes. As every scientific questions had particular answer may be this also could be somewhat should be in reasonable manner.
