I was about 15-16 years old, I have a girlfriend that I love so much. It came to a point in your our life that we made a promise not broke up. But time and chance really hinder us! When we were about to go to college, her parents sent her to US and me, far from our province. I really don't know how much do I really invest in love for me not hurt so much. How about you, how much should invest?

If it's real love you don't care about the distance because your hearts will be together and you know/feel the other one is loving you and thinking of you. I think it should not matter if you are 16 or 26 or 36. Time goes fast if you look back and what is a few years if you can spend the rest of your life together? Also not beging together day and night at the age of 16 will give you (both) the opportunity to see more about the world, about life. So you have life experiences and you know what you are talking about and you won't get the feeling sooner or later you missed a lot. One time I waited 14 years for someone, after that I wasted 8 years of my life waiting and hoping the relationship would be better and after that I wasted an other 7-8 years of my life. These were very hard lessons. Looking back it is as if it was a long time ago but the most sad thing about this all is I forgot to live my life and enjoy it the way I should be. I think what we are willing to invest depends on the age we have, the situation we are in, the person we met. I invested way too much. It was not worth it since none of these persons loved me the way I loved them.

Well, it depends on how deep your love is. You will never know what would happened with her when studying there.I think the best way going forward is just by keep in touch by using any types of cheap communication such as chatting, email or even video conference. Then you do not need to invest so much. I believe long distance relationship is really hard to maintain.
