Gmail accounts are spammed due to my thoughtless registering up of paid to read email sites. I cannot unsubscribe because of some problem in the link. Is it enough to change gmail passwod or should I try to contact the site itself? I delete spam mails often. Is there a feature which can block such mails?

Passwords have nothing to do with spam. The password protects your account from being hacked or stolen, but spammers don't know your password or rely on it. It's enough to know someone email address to send him a message, which can be spam.
The unsuscribe feature rarely works. Spammers put it to the signup message, but really if someone wants to spam, they will not care about that option, and once your address is in their database, there is no real way to get out of there. Your best option is to setup filters in your account to block such messages.
One tip. If you sign up for many sites it's a good idea to NEVER give your real email, just because the possible spam. Use disposable email addresses that some sites offer, so you can test if the site spams or not, and only when you're sure change the address in your account to your real one. I use spamgourmet for that purpose (http://www.spamgourmet.com/).

Hello sreekutty,
You can mark it as spam and next time those mails will go to the spam folder. You can delete spam mails once in a week in one go. Even if you didn’t delete, gmail will delete those spam mails by themselves. If you can unsubscribe from the sites itself, it will be really helpful, if the link is not working then marking as spam is the better method.
I don’t think the password changing can do anything with getting mails from the sites you registered. Then also changing a password, once in a while, is recommendable.
