I do like candles and I would buy it even if I don't know when will I need it. In short, I got a good supply of it which comes into handy during the one week of no electricity in our place. I also keep a box of small candles in the car in case I would like to unplanned visit to my father's grave.
Before the start of October 2011, I made a research in the internet on how to make scented candles. I am sure I could do it and I have lots of things in my mind on the designs that I would make. I am very excited and told my sister about it and we planned for a business venture. The sad thing is there is no available supply in our area. We still need to go to Manila to purchase things so we put this thought on hold.
Do you like scented candles?

I dont really like scented candles as the smell when I lit it up is too strong for me and it makes me dizzy. actually the scent itself I like but so far I have never found scented candles with light smell. the smell always too strong for me._

r3jcorp, Hi..
I love scented candles..and they are very popular here and there are many available. If you can find a demand for them I think it would be a fun business. Talk to someone who has started their own business and learn from their mistakes because it can be very costly to get started. Good luck

Scented candles are awesome, I have bought many. But I notice that I have purchased some and the scent does not last as long as the candle burning.
If you are thinking of starting out small I would suggest candle tarts.
I purchase those on a monthly basis and the little tart or crumbles that I mostly buy scents up two to three rooms in my home at a time.
you can see a lot of different ideas
This is where I purchase from and it might give you and your sister more ideas than having to start out with so much overhead.
Hope it works and you get some neat ideas on your venture.

Thank you for best response.
I know Angie sells her oils online too from this site.
My absolute favorites in the tarts are
blueberries and cream
banana nut buttercream
Black Cherry Bomb
and a new favorite that I just tried was the
Amish Friendship Bread.
I have bought many different tarts from different individual buyers and this lady's business is the strongest I have found so far.
Somehow I have become a tart tester LOL
Another place you can get an idea of people selling tarts is on
ebay.com
Once you are at the homepage, just enter candle tarts and you will be able to view and browse to your hearts content.
I owned my own ceramic business for over 20 years. I became disabled so could no longer lift the plaster molds.
But I love to assist anyone that is trying to start their own business as I found many shortcuts for me as I went on in my business!
Hope you have fun trying this idea.
Keep in touch and let me know how you are doing.
