Shanti Ghosh and Suniti Chaudhury from Comilla (now Bangladesh) were students of 8th class in Faizunishan girls high school. They both had two particular activities which made them famous among all students. Shanti Was a singer where as Suniti led the volunteer's camp. At that time the District Magistrate of Comilla district was familiar for his harsh behavior and cruel attitudes towards civilians. He often tortured the poor people without finding them guilty. His name was Mr. CGB Stevens. On 14 December, 1931, at the age of 13, these two girls arrived the bungalow of Stevens and fired at him resulting shot him dead. Both arrested and punished. They considered it as a revenge of the execution of Bhagat Singh. "TO PRESERVE YOUR HONOR TAKE UP YOUR ARMS YOURSELVES YE MOTHERS"... Subhash Bose gave an autograph to these little young girls. Haripal Singh, a patriot of India wrote to me days ago that he has made a film on these two little revolutionaries as titled by "YE MOTHERS". Sorry to say that i have not got a chance to watch this movie. Anyone there? Sorry to say why we are still not conscious about such heroic efforts?

I haven't seen this movie and Im not sure if it will come to Australia. some Indian movies come here. I can ask my office manager is she is Indian and her family are still in India. I do like movies that are based on real events. Especially where it involves heroics, hardship, struggle, etc. I didn't know of this story of the two teenage girls. They must have suffered a great deal with Mr. Stevens to have killed him.

Hi jenny.... Alas, being an Indian i have been depriving off from viewing this movie even i did not know about its release before the writer of the movie mailed to me. This movie was released on 2010 but not got a little popularity and perhaps it's promotion was very less. You may watch three others Indian movie based on patriotism. 1. The legend of Bhagat Singh, 2. Magal Pandey, the rising. 3. Khelein hum jee jaan se... if you are interested. Have a nice time.

Jenny. Let me clear the issue. Before 1947, India, Pakistan and Bangladesh were a single country and all revolutionaries fought against British colonialism, hence its not a matter that its a Bangladeshi movie. Its an Indian movie and all members related to this film are Indians. At that time when those two girls were in action, no divide and rule policy was finalized by British. Hope you are clear now.

Hullo Shibham! In our region also there were some wonderful freedom fighters like Veerapandya kattabomman, V.O.C[the first swadeshi ship was launched by him] and films like Sivagangai seeemai , etc; I too am fired by enthusiam, pride and a sense of belonging when I see such factual depictions. My heart and eyes swell and there is also a lingering sense of " Great heroes but really poor souls because what have we achieved with this hard earned independence?' would be my next thought. Nevertheles, it is our bounden duy to be aware of these great people.

Hi Shibham! I am a Tamilian and I have stayed all my life in our Tamil Nadu. Only for the past few years I have been staying in Mumbai because I have relocated here to be with my only child. I would always refer to Tamil Nadu as my region irrespective of which corner of the world I am in.

Yes Viji! Recently, a program was telecast on television in Podigai on Oct2nd; some books were offered as gifts to students who answered elementary questions about Mahatma Gandhi and it was pathetic to note that there were students who did not know the simplest of answers. namma naadu nilamai appadi!

Yes, didi i have read about him. But as far i know he is a hero from Tamilnadu but you are from Maharastra according to your profile. Anyway, i have written several times that we often follow some well known heroes or freedom fighters and letting be unsung them who are still same. I have not heard your film too and it seems its not in Hindi. But i have seen a movie based on the life of Vasudeo Balawant Phadke. have a nice time.

Hi Shibham, How are you doing? I remember I have heard the name of "Shanti Gosh" among our Freedom Fighters, but Suniti Chaudhury is a new name for me. Really whatever we have learned during our school time from textbooks of history and Hindi in form of stories and instances is not enough to include all our Freedom Fighters. Much of them never came into light and their effort and life sacrifice has not received any recognition by us. It is really another bad aspect of our education system. But books also cannot include all of the Freedom Fighters. I am also unfamiliar with any movie named "Ye Mothers." When your friend Haripal Singh made this film? I guess it is not very old...
