I just read a piece of trivia on yahoo. Did you know it takes 850 peanuts to make just one 18 ounce jar of peanut butter? I found that fascinating since peanut butter has been a part of my life since I was 2 or 3 years old. Whats your favorite way to use peanut butter in cooking? Mine is peanut butter cookies. Now I want to go make some!

marie2052 Wow that's a lot of peanuts for sure. I love peanut butter. I can eat it right out of the jar and often that is exactly what I do. I read somewhere that is not healthy because people can chock on peanut butter without anything else, but I have never had a problem...peanut butter cookies are one of my favorite too…especially it they also have chocolate chips in them...

It's not surprising how many calories we're taking it for a peanut sandwich. hahahah!! Still, I enjoy each and every bite of it. Thanks for the trivia, marie. As to your question, well I love Ludy's peanut butter back in the Phils! We always have some brought over here when we have visitors from back home.

My son makes me bring back Guava candy when I go to Mexico. So I understand having favorites from home. Took him on a cruise to Mexico in 2006, and he learned to love Guava (and Tequila) He had just turned 16 and we went to Puerto Valarte and went to the Tequila factory. I barely drink and my girlfriend that went with us hardly drank either so Nick tasted it liked it and became our disposal for the shots they kept giving us to try LOL Poor Kid. He now tells me at 21 that my girlfriend and I had managed to give him a buzz while off the ship ROFL!!!

I like peanut butter and marmalade sandwiches, but have been known to occassionally just scoop some out with a spoon and eat "straight".

Yep I like to have a teaspoon occasionally. I am gonna make peanut butter cookies this weekend. I try to keep my hubby who is diabetic away from all the preservatives that are in all that store bought stuff. So thus all the baking.

Peanut butter on bread is not a favorite for my kids. But they eat a lot of peanuts everyday, roasted or boiled peanuts, with garlic or sweetened, name it and surely they wanted it. For cooking, peanut butter is good to one of Pinoy Dishes named Kare-kare which is made of the tail part of a cow and internal organs i think. I am not a good cook but that is one of my favorite.

I think I have had something similar to that when I was in Vietnam. Those names you stated in the dishes brought back a flash of memories of something I ate. Thanks for sharing.

Have been cooking for many years and at one time owned a catering business. I love including peanut butter in cooking as well. Some of the recipes I have made with peanut butter are: Peanut butter bread Peanut butter frosting Reeces peanut butter and chocolate pie I have even written two articles on additional ways that peanut butter can be used and these uses have nothing to do with eating or cooking. Peanut butter is great!
