The cross stitchers here on mylot know I have been working very hard to complete this project.
In doing so I became MIA for a few days in mylot.
Well she is done. It is cold here so I have my laptop and under the covers doing mylot.
I hope to get a picture of her today so you all can see.
She heads for the framers next week since the length and width will not adjust for the usual size frames and matts out there. Otherwise my husband would finish it.
Now I am off and running on working on two projects both on 22 count.
The one I have already discussed which is the Rocky Mountain kingdom and my new one is
Fairy Bride I am doing her for a friend getting married next June so its going to get the most attention weekly and using the other project to give me a break on the colors from one to the other.
But these two projects I have to say are much more colorful. Working on the April Birthstone actually put me in depression. I guess because of all the very dark colors.
I have been around just enjoying my cross stitching at full speed

I am still working on the magnets for Christmas. More now that it has gotten cold. When there is a football game on or a comedy show, I will just listen to it and work on whatever project I am doing. After the magnets there are two projects I would like to do. One is a snowman made of different materials that I will give to a friend for her birthday. It is not until March 15, so I have time. Then I have a mouse pad that is cross stitched. I made one for a friend and it took longer than I expected. This one is for me. I don't usually make anything for myself but I made an exception.

Do you put any sort of cover over the stitching for the mousepads?

Yes. After the design(which is a picture of birds) is stitched, it goes ontop of a piece of rubber and then that all fits inside a plastic envelope. It looks really nice when it is done, it is just getting it done.

I think you can get the mouse pads for cross stitch projects through herrshners and also Country Cross Stitch.
Glad you are making something for yourself cerebellum
I bought a pattern for myself from country cross stitch and other commitments keep getting in the way of me doing mine LOL
By the time I get to do something for myself, they will have to put it in the urn with me ROFL

Its getting cooler here so I will start back to working on afghans in the nighttime when its harder to see the stitching.
You will have to take pics and show us what you are making too!
Love seeing new ideas
I am no sewer!!! Hated that in Home Ec
But was always an A student in cooking LOL
You can see where I am going with this.

Didn't do good in home ec either, not with sewing or cooking - made some dynamite flower arrangements...
if it hadn't been for 2 things, a refusal to do zippers and button holes and patterns that let me get away without them, AND, more importantly, a very patient mother I'd still not be sewing...
Heck, she taught me the little I know of crocheting too.
I did teach myself how to needle point and cross stitch...

Especially when I actually figured out it was depressing me because of the dark colors!
Taking it in next week for framing.
Here is the link to cross country stitching I always get the words backwards LOL

What I like about them is you can stitch one of their pieces and they have a matching frame for it.
I made my daughter in law a Christmas piece last year and got the frame in and it was just darling.
Here is the place to get the mouse pad Barb.
