I just finished watching the movie and I'm really confused why it was titled "Drive Angry". Other than John's (Nicolas Cage's character) love for cars (it seemed he loves cars), I don't really see the connection of driving angry to the main plot. ^^ Anyway, for the synopsis... Enter John Milton (Nicolas Cage) who seems to be chasing a group of people and the first scene would somehow mislead you to think that the movie is a gangster movie because of the (title itself!) car chase, the guns and the goons. John's get up also may tell you that he's some gang leader because of his black outfit with matching black sunglasses. He hitches a ride with Piper (Amber Heard) and from there, he somehow managed to drag Piper along with his issue. And then the Accountant (William Fichtner) is shown and you start to guess that there's something supernatural about the film. Turns out, John is after a cult group who killed his daughter and kidnapped his granddaughter who is just a baby. The Accountant is also after him for escaping from the "prison" and he wants to take John back. Piper was just the waitress with a nice car and John hitches a ride with her and in the end, John said he chose her so that he can leave her the baby. Even with the odd title, I still liked the movie. It has a lot of actions and you won't get bored with it. But there's not much to the story other than the peculiarity of John and the Accountant's characters. I liked how William Fichtner played his role. He was really entertaining and amusing. The main reason (cult group) of John's escaping prison however, seemed less of a big deal because the cult leader wasn't very convincing and there wasn't much explanation and information about their cult. Still, on the whole, I like the movie.
