A few days ago I got sick from one of my co-workers(doesn't it always start like that). No matter what medicine I take my relief from the coughing and pain in general lasts a few hours only and then it comes back. At least the shaking and shivering has stopped for now. Anyone know any good nature relief objects I can try my hand at? I am busy drinking tea as we speak.

Pressure, stress and problem with your co-worker plus flu will really deteriorate to your condition. Have a holiday my friend, take a rest and relax at your own home the more that you are exposing with a lot of pressure wont help you recover. They are right drink lots of water and take your vitamins too.

Our family Doctor always says don't go to a doctor when head and fever comes, you first boil water with ginger and pepper along with some thulasi a (medicinal plant) leaves drink this water 2 or 3 times in a day. definitely you will get much relief. Our doctor says that after trying this one day if you couldn't get relief then consult a doctor.

Thanks for the advice, what is a similar plant I might find to the Thulasi in America?

I have a few I use. One is a vinegar/honey tea, made with a tablespoon of each in a cup of water. I drink this twice a day, half an hour before breakfast and bedtime, but this is more for preventive, but it wouldn't hurt when you are sick either.
another is eat lots of garlic, garlic is a natural antibiotic.
Third, if you are really bad, I have this other tea that I use, but only when I am really sick. Take a grapefruit, (I think both white and ruby red work, but I prefer the white one) and slice it into 8 slices. Removing the seeds, place in a saucepan and cover with water. Bring the water to a boil and then remove. You can then take the water and pour into a cup with honey and eat the fruit slices too. I don't know why, but one time when I was really sick and my husband brought this recipe home, I felt better almost immediately...

One of the remedy for fever is drinking alot of water to try to cool down but I would advise you to seek consultation. In most cases, fever usually last one to three days maximum and is relieved by over the counter medication like analgesics. A fever lasting more than three days deserves a consultation.

It comes and goes but my tummy is starting to hurt from all the coughing. Will take it easy today, drink lots of water and get some more rest and see how we feel. Got work in the morning
