Getting a port for Remicade

What do you think of getting a port put in for Remicade? My daughter is an awful stick and the nurse keeps telling her to get a port. But I am thinking that would just make life easier for the nurse and maybe isn't even necessary. Yes it does take a long time to get an IV gong for my daughter but it is only every 6 weeks. It's not like she needs it every day or anything like that. I will admit after her last Remicade I do feel like saying "get a port". My daughter had 11 pokes and has the bruised arms to prove it. Finally an anesthiologist was call in to put in the IV, It even took him 2 times. But still I hear about infections with the port. Any ideas out there? Thanks.
