These bugs are now EVERYWHERE in the Northeastern US--apparently they came over on planes traveling to and from China, and they have no natural enemies here so the population is exploding! And when you kill them, they. . .stink. And the smell attracts more stink bugs, so it becomes a vicious cycle.
Has anyone come up with a way to get rid of these stinky pests??? I'll try anything!

They are about 1/3 inch long, dull brown, and kind of flat. They look like a little leaf on legs. The head is kind of pointy. They don't bite, or anything, but they get into everything--boxes, bags, closets, etc.--and they are everywhere outside, too.

There is a good picture at http://stinkbugsguide.net.
BTW, I tried some of their suggestions for getting rid of the critters, but most are not really viable options for houses with kids. . .pesticides, wasps, and such.

WE had those a few years ago...and now they are starting to thin because of the chemicals they use in the fields. I know what you mean though...by the way....the hid during the winter and reappear in the spring too. You can treat the outside of your house I guess. I never did. I sucked them up in a vacumn cleaner when I could.

I have started using the vacuum too--it seems to work, at least for now. Thanks for the tip--I will be on the lookout right about now to get as many as possible, and then in early spring, too!
