All set to start my new job!!

This morning at 8AM I had to go into Victoria's Secret to learn all about the bras and how to do bra measurements. Let me just say...WOW!! There are so many different types of bras and different styles. It was a bit overwhelming and I'm glad I don't have to be in that section. After the 2 hour training session I got my schedule for the week. It's only 2 days but for me, it's a good start because I don't want to get too overwhelmed. Then later, I went back with my mom because I needed to buy the Pink clothing since I work in that section and that's what you have to wear. I was able to find a few nice v necks, yoga pants, and a few reallyyy nice jackets. I'm able to buy 10 items from Pink at 50% off. I found all 10 items and went to one of the managers so she could ring me up and apply the discount. Regularly, the total would have been around 400 dollars, but luckily the discount brought it down to 200. It was still quite a bit, but considering some of the things I got and how much I bought, it doesn't seem so bad. I can even wear these clothes to school and stuff since it's stuff I would normally wear around. I even found out one of my friends from high school works in the same section and another one of my friends works at Oakley not too far down from Victoria's Secret. So I think I'm as ready as I can be for this job. I'm relieved to know that one of my friends will be working there and I'll at least know someone. I'm still nervous to start though lol. I'll let you all know how my first day goes on Wednesday!!

It's not Wednesday yet, but I still wish you luck. It's great that you only got 2 days to start. I'm sure it's overwhelming and it's great that you don't have to go everyday. Added to the schoolwork, and it might get too heavy a load for you. Anyway, looking forward to your next discussions!

Thank you :) I'm glad I only got 2 days because it'll give me an idea of how to fit work in with my classes and schoolwork. My parents have told me they think it's good to have a job just to get experience, they just don't want it to get in the way of school and doing well. I'm a bit nervous for tomorrow, mainly because I was never told what exactly I'll do during shifts. I know how to fit people for bras and stuff but I have no clue what I'm supposed to do in the meantime lol. I guess I'll find out tomorrow how it all works!

When my son gets to be your age, I would also like him to be working. Even part time. So that he would know what it's like. But the priority still is the education. The money you earn now is all good, but I'm sure that what you're studying for would be for better money in the future.

Yes, I'm definitely studying something that will bring in more than a minimum wage job Luckily right now for me, it's not about earning a ton of money. I think having a part time job as a teenager is good for getting work experience and overall learning the value of money. And since my school schedule is very flexible, it doesn't hurt anything by working a few days. I do think it's important for teens to have some job experience, but not so much that it interferes with school. haha I'm sure you'll enjoy it when your son gets older and has a job..he won't have to ask you for money to do and buy things all the time

I wish you luck on your new job. My daughter would love to work there. Especially so she could get a discount and buy the Bombshell Bra :D. Good Luck and I hope all goes well on your first day on the job.
