Drinking clear fluids like water during PMS helps to flush your system of toxins and will aid some of the side effects like acne. By staying away from the sodas (yes...even diet soda!) during this time, you help your body rebound from PMS. When you first start to feel moody or cramp, don’t wait. Take a pain reliever now. If you wait until you are in the middle of the PMS war zone, then you will have to take several doses to stop the effects. Be careful what you eat. PMS cravings for sugar (chocolate) and salt are very common during this time of the month. However, sugar adds weight and salty foods can cause water retention. Find some healthy snacks at the health food store, some veggies, or stock up on ginger cookies (great for cramps!).

you're right about the advantages we get from turmeric. I know turmeric well but I don't live in India. I live in Indonesia where turmeric is also very famous. turmeric is not only for medicine but also for seasoning as well. there are some recipes which has turmeric as their ingredient. I know that turmeric is useful for our health but I don't think the there are so many advantages! the last news is, yes you're right that turmeric could be used to cure cancer. I hope it's true and proved so people with cancer could get the medicine at very cheap price..(turmeric is so cheap in my place. even sometimes just ask for it, no need to buy..:p)

I think that exercising is the best thing to get rid of PMS, however if it makes you feel as ill as you're saying then this probably won't be the best of ideas for you as an individual. I think that even going for a walk in the fresh air can help a lot, and it can also help you to get rid of the cramps as well. You should go to a doctor if it's really affected your daily life, as you'll find that there are a lot of things that they would be able to prescribe to help you get rid of the pain, as there's no way that you should have to live like that.

I enjoyed having sport regularly when I was in college. but I stopped having sport when I got married due to limited time. For me sport didn't make me away from pain cos when I was still active having sport I got that pain during my period. Sleeping is the best treatment for me but it must be difficult being slept during the pain. actually the pain is reduced after I delivered my first child. I could be free of having the pain someday but if I got the pain someday, the pain could be worse than ever. It's confusing I think so I will try your tips someday when the pain comes..thanks a lot, sweetie..:)

My mom's sister in law got really agonizing stomach cramps when she had her period. One time they were on vacation on the south coast. She didn't have any pain relief and they had to walk five miles to the nearest chemist. Amazingly all that walking took all her stomach cramps away. I suggest drinking water and getting fresh air. To improve your mood eating chocolate might help possibly. If having a lazy day a hot water bottle can ease tummy pain or back pain. Good luck.

do you think that pain of PMS is descending? my mother. at her teenage age, always had severe pain whenever she got menstruation, even she got faint sometimes. I just can't imagine how hurt it was. and so do I. though I don't get faint every time I have my period, but I almost have fever, loosing my appetite, seem to throw up and can't walk properly. all I want is sleeping (of course sleeping is hard to do in pain like that..LOL). thanks for your response. it's a good opinion. most people here also tell the same that eating chocolate could make our feeling better..

Hi Humariaku, I used to like you whenever my period comes. I had a serious stomachache, felts like dying every time. Here are some tips you can do: 1)You should try to do foot massage everyday by just putting your feet into hot water before you go to sleep.you can add some salt.that is very good for your blood circulation.after that, try to massage your feet by yourself. -thats really useful. 2)before you go to sleep, lie down and massage your stomach with your warm hands. like drawing a cirle with your palm. clockwise and anti clock wise. 3)Do some strech every day.Suggest YOGA. 4)When your period ends every month, eat eggs with Ginger. Keep doing this.dont get lazy:) and you will be better:) girls!

you're info is so great Lucky..! I really appreciate it.. but now I ask to myself, how could you get so many tips like them? do you get them from magazines or newspapers? or maybe you got them by doing trial and error? but I'm sure that one of them got from your mother or granny.. you know what, I prefer traditional medicine to the chemical one. so I like to consume herbal drink than to take a killer pill. I think herbal drink is also useful to lessen the pain. but your tips are so great to try..

yeah you're right, I never had exercise after having a baby. I was a runner before getting married and I seldom got pain. and now, I had no exercise at all.. actually I seldom get pain in my period time but if I get PMS it could be much more painful than ever. I often get fever and want to throw up. I also lose my appetite. though it only lasts for ten or twelve hours but it really bothers me cos I can't do anything. so your tip is so useful and good to be practiced..

I used to suffer a great deal from pms when I was younger. I had to take Ibuprofen (Motrin) to relieve the discomfort. I had to work, and there were even some days that I couldn't go to work, because it would be so bad. Nothing would relieve it but an anti-inflammatory like Motrin or something... and then it didn't always help. Even a heating pad didn't help or ice either. Nothing would help. Motrin usually helped though. I have no tips, because nothing helped me other than medication.

It is normal for a beginner to feel discomfort during menstrual period. To alleviate discomfort specially pain , exercise is the best solution. But do not do strenuous exercise, plain brisk walking with do and a few aerobics steps will keep you active and kick those blues away
