Good day dear fellow mylotters,
Good thing, television is not that easy to explode because if that will be the case, then our television is one of those unit that already erupted. As my nephew cannot be stopped in watching television shows. The moment he wake up in the morning, he will open the tv and tuned in to the channel where cartoons are being aired. And this will go with a series of cartoon shows that will last for five hours. Then if the cartoons are already finished, he will asked if he can watch another cartoons thru vcd. Still, the television is open for another program.
I personally want to stopped him since watching television is not too good for child since some cartoons are rated PG which is under parental guidance. But what to do, his parents tolerates him with this attitude. I have just told to myself, "good thing, television is not that easy to explode, because, if not, ours will be one of those which already erupted".

I think as parents it is our duty to restrict our child with too much TV viewing. Yes, we should let him watch TV but not for a prolonged hours, because his eyes be strained and it will dull his mind and will not exercise his body.
Perhaps, they should also let their child play with other children. And if there are no children around then maybe they can buy him toys that can give him physical activities such as basketball or badminton which could be played with his caregiver or with the parents. Anything, that can let him move around .

Hi there Simplyd,
Absolutely. It is the parent duty to restrict their child/children. But that is not the one being done by the parent of my nephew. As they are tolerating their son's attitude towards watching. That, most of the time, I just keep my mouth shut rather commenting on this situation that I always seen.

Too much of everything is really dangerous. You must help your nephew to stop his addiction in watching shows/cartoons in the television. Help him to shift his attention. Do not just tolerate him. Be sure to guide him always. Hope your television will not explode. LOL. :)

hi airasheila.
lol! i bet if your television set did explode, your nephew will be the first one to grieve the loss of the tv!
anyway, staying in front of the television watching cartoons for long stretches of time is really unhealthy. medical studies have shown that inactivity brought about by watching too much television can lead to a number of health issues. it also adversely affects the mental, psychological, and social development of young children. i would suggest that you introduce your nephew to activities that are suited to his age. perhaps a good round of outdoor games is in order? also, you may try to introduce your nephew to different kinds of coloring and activity books. everything done in excess leads to unpleasant things including something as common as watching television.
hope this pans out right for you and your nephew.

hello,
You really care for your nephew huh?.
But actually television is not really good for children as my mom always limit my brother on watching cartoons every morning because she know that my brother might be addicted in watching than playing outside.
You can help your nephew by helping him to realize that it is bad. ha ha yeah, if television is easy to erupt might be yours will be broken,
