Still in my dilemma about relocation

Hi friends, Thanks for all who commented to my other question. I am in a chronic state of depression. I am so depressed I can't make any decisions. I am so depressed I can't look for any rentals. My son tried to call some cheap motels in Greensboro, NC and some smaller cities bet Winston Salem, NC and Greensboro, NC. If I were to move to this area I'd (we) be so far away from family who know how long it will be when I'd get to see them next. My other son, my sister and my older brothers and my little nieces. My son and I made plans to return to IL to the city I lived in for 31 years. That's where my younger son was born. He's not had friends (not I) for close on 4 years. Not seen my family (above mentioned) for nearly 4 yrs. But the more I think about going back to that small city the more depressed I get. In Jan of 2008 my son and I wanted to relocate from IL. We moved to KY although that wouldn't have been my first choice I didn't have much money. I still wasn't happy with the bigger city in KY because I still thought the terrain looked like IL. So we both wanted to move again. My son wanted a place that had more billiards playing and tournaments. So we made the big mistake of moving here, a little city in E Tennessee. And we've not liked it; we been unhappy and depressed here. Neither of us got involved in any activities or groups or church so we never made any real friends just a few acquaintances. I was kind of mad at my family but I realized how much I miss a couple of them. My older son is ok with us being away from there. He will come and see me. My other family can't come to visit me that easily because of jobs etc. I find myself still wanting to go off to a new and exciting place. But my son could use some of his old friends to talk to not to mention his only brother. Plus we would have a tuff time trying to relocate. We have a Sec 8 voucher and could sell what we have but still wouldn't have much over $1,000. We might have to stay in a dumpy motel all month. If I go back to IL I got a landlord who will let me more in. Anybody can suggest anything?
