Using Warranties

Here's a photo from outside of my new picture window I had installed
yesterday (Thur). Seems during shipping the outside glass sustained a
crack but not a break. So they said it would be 2 weeks for a new sheet
of glass etc to be ordered then replaced on this. So not too bad actually.
Kind of a bummer but I understand as the day all my windows arrived the
company had 200 plus windows delivered. So therefore some banging etc
was expected. So this was covered under my lifetime glass breakage warranty.
But I would not have been charged if no warranty was on them as it occured
prior to installation. I am really happy with ALL my windows. So for discussion purposes, have you ever cashed in on a lifetime warranty of anything you own?

Not a lifetime warranty, but one that was for a year..Remember my mixer I told you about, how it broke right before the warranty expired and I had to cut the cord to send in order to get a certificate for a new one? Well I just checked the tracking, it was delivered on Oct 10th and here it is the 28th and still nothing..I don't know if I should give it another week or two before saying something, because I could have missed the 4-6 weeks until I get it...

I don't like emailing.
I prefer to talk to a person.
Good luck also.

no I haven't, but my mom had some neighbors in the condo complex that were in a serious car wreck... we drove to the Cortez hospital from Durango to give them a ride back to the condo. He said he was sure the brake place would be glad to see he wrecked his car because he'd been holding them to that "lifetime" warranty for over 10 years on the car he had just totaled !

Hope things work out if they pursue the warranty.

Actually in my ole house when I too upgraded the windows the installers put in some of the holders way too short. I too was told the same as you that it would be two weeks to have it replaced. So I waited, and waited and it took 3 months but it did finally get replaced.
There are some things that I find worth using the life-time warranties on, such as vehicle parts. This way all I have to do is pay the labor, although a bit costlier but cheaper in the long run.

Oh I am not the type to let things go on for too long. Come 2 weeks and a day I will be calling and complaining and asking for a decent rebate due to not having a good new window installed to start with. HAH!!!
