How do you feel about the Marriage Equality movement

I know in America we had a milestone occurance it the repal of the "Do not ask, do not tell" policy which kept homosexuality undercover in the military and then when New York passed the law enabling gay couples to marry. There is quite a debate that is going on regarding this issue. How do you feel about gay people having the right to marry and also deserving the same rights as those who are heterosexual and marry..? I myself am for the rights of all being upheld. I know its not going to sit right with some here; but I feel everyone deserves that freedom to choose who they will love and how they will love as long as it does not cause harm to anyone or break any laws. HI little franciscan: If you'd ask me this question some years before my answer would be a big no, but now that I have met so many people I have realized how a human's heart is so complexed and that there are so many ways to love someboy, straight love is just a way of loving and actually gay couples can be as serious and have the same feelings straight ones have. I think it's about equality so now my answer would be yes. There should not exist any religious reason to deny it. Religions can regulate their own rules to consider something as marriage but in a country there must be a separation between Church and the State. ALVARO

Your answer ..Alvaro..is pretty much how mine would have been.. I use to be the first to say "no" to gay marriage but then as I studied and mingled I realized how narrow minded such an attitude was.. that is to say : only heterosexuals can marry. I don't believe like that any more. I believe people who love each other can marry..as long as they love each other. .some people should never marry as they cannot stick to a forever committment.

Gay wedding - Equal right to marriage vows
My own state will be debating a Private Memebrs' Bill on this subject soon, and not before time. Of course they should have the same right as heterosexuals to declare publicly their commitment, and most certainly to have the same legal rights as a heterosexual spouse. Lash

I hope you state comes to see that love is love. but most of all that people come to respect one another enough that they don't try to force people to love how they love.
