What do you think of Bayern Munchen so far?

As probably most of you know, I am a huge Bayern Munchen fan. After another great performance on Saturday against Nurnberg and a comfortable win, opponents and press in Germany say that Bayern is at a too high level for other German teams. I also believe this, but in order to win trophies, they need to be concentrated till the end of the season and I am sure that the domestic trophies will be won. But can Bayern win the magic triple? Which means Bundesliga, DFB Cup and the most important, Champions League. Please share your thoughts...

I think the way Bayern are playing currently, they are favorites to win the Bundesliga. Mario Gomez seems to be in great form this season and scoring goals for fun. DFB Cup is a knockout competition and anything can happen in a given game so it is difficult to predict just yet. I think the Champions League would be the biggest test for Bayern. I think they will make it to the knockout stages. From there on it would be interesting to see how they progress. Cheers! Ram

Yes, the knock out phase is also depending a lot on luck, because there are many factors which can influence a team's progress. You can be unlucky to have many injuries and if you meet a team which is at the same level as you are and they can knock you out. I just hope for a great season, because the last Champions League title is more than 10 years ago.

Yes, one is the set of factors you mentioned. The other is the quality of the competition. The teams at that level can capitalize on every small mistake the other team makes. So from that perspective it becomes really interesting. Cheers! Ram

That is why Champions League is so popular on the globe, because players always give the best they've got and try to speculate the mistakes. It will certainly be a tremendous season, if Bayern, Real, Barcelona, the two Manchester teams will keep up the level and I am convinced that Chelsea will be much better from the knock out stage. And of course, there is always a team like Milan, which is unpredictable.

Bayern Munich is one of the strongest, if not the strongest, team in Bundesliga. They are always favorite to win either the league or DFB cup. As for Champions League, it is a different ball game altogether. Facing Barcelona or Man Utd is unlike facing Borussia Dortmund or Leverkusen. They have to up their game.

You are right, it is not the same, but I can tell you that teams like Dortmund and Leverkusen give 150% against Bayern, they can motivate themselves better when playing against Bayern than when playing in the Champions League. The hatred which the other Bundesliga teams have against Bayern is higher than the motivation a Champions League game can give you. Honestly, at this moment, I cannot see United, Real, Barcelona or City at a higher level than Bayern. I am a huge Bayern fan, and maybe you can say that I am subjective, but Bayern has pulled off fantastic performances against City and Napoli in the Champions League, and I think only Real can be said that they performed better than Bayern so far. I think the fact that the team which scored 6 on Old Trafford has hardly had any chance on Allianz Arena speaks a lot about the quality which is currently in the Bayern team.

At the start of the season, Bayern is consistent with their results and wins till champions league starts. In the recent weeks, they seem to lose their momentum, starting from the match against Hoffenheim. Since then, there are not able to string simultaneous victories together. It's been a long time since a team there wins a triple, and it would be good to see Bayern doing that. Dortmund played good football last season, but they only managed one. Therefore if bayern can win all 3, there would be great.

I guess the best place to drop some points is the Bundesliga for Bayern, because the season is long and other teams will also drop some points over it. If you lose in the German Cup, you are out, there is no chance to get back in the competition and therefore, you cannot win it. In the Champions League, the slip ups can be allowed in the group phase, but only two, otherwise the team is usually out. I hope that Bayern will win on Wednesday against Napoli and then they will be almost qualified. The real deal starts only next year in the Champions League, the knock out phase is similar to the German Cup, but there are two legs in every phase, so a loss can be overcome with a great second leg. All in all, I dream of the magical triple, it would be amazing for me and for many other Bayern fans and players. And maybe after the magical triple the European title will come also for the German national team, which would make this season the most special for me.
