Don't you alternate who turns into a parking lot when there are LINES??

This morning at the school I'm sitting there waiting and realize after about a minute that the car ahead of me was just SITTING THERE. It has been my experience that when there is a line of cars coming from both directions, both intending to turn right or left into the SAME parking lot, the courtesy is to alternate, so first one turns right, then one turns left, so on and so forth. WHY did that person just sit there?? There were about 10 cars that turned into the lot in front of them while they twiddled their thumbs. Even if I'm the one turning right, I will allow the other car to go, kind of like a 4 way stop. Even honking did no good. Happy Halloween, idiot!!!

I suppose the person that was in front of you in line was not in a hurry to get anywhere. I know that when it is me, I will let a person go in front of me and then I will go and I hope that the person that is behind me will let the next person go. I've been doing that since I was actually in high school and I first started driving. I like to show respect for people when I'm driving so that there are not people that are raging at me.

Maybe they were daydreaming. Maybe they were being courteous (remember, they are not thinking about the cars behind them. Maybe they were concerned about speeding up the process. Letting a group go from each direction would probably get more cars through the process than alternating one at a time. Truth is, I really do not know, and I hope it was not me.

Some people are just intimidated by other drivers. Just like in life there are those people that are more forward and then those that are more shy. You can see this in driving also. Just like getting on the highway it is common courtesy to let one car go in front of you and then keep going. Help with the flow of traffic. This person was being nice to one line of people, but probably really upsetting the people behind them. Maybe they were just sleep driving.
