My husband and i have a lot of bills and we are trying to do our best to get them paid off. We have had some medical expenses and all that have set us back some and now our electricity has been shut off and we have no way of getting it turned back on for another few weeks when we are paid again. We have tried making arrangements with the utility company when we knew it would be a problem many months ago but they said they would not speak with us until we recieved a cutoff notice. Well, months went by and we paid as we could but recieved no cutoff notice.....until last week. My husband called the office and they refused to take any kind of electronic payments. We were going to set them up to auto pay when we were paid next. The cutoff notice said that we had until December 7th but they cut our electric off last friday the 17th. My husband then went down there today and they refused to turn our electric back on and will not accept any type of payment unless it is the entire amount that we owe right now. Which is almost $700! So that means we are without heat, stove, washing machine, etc., throughout the Thanksgiving holiday and well past it. We are christians and i hate doing this but i just dont know what else to do. We cannot borrow from anyone or get any loans. If you can help, please do, our paypal is calico79@midsouth.rr.com. Even if you just donate a penny or a dollar or whatever. Every little bit helps. Thank you for taking the time to read this and I wish you and your families all the best this season.

We were part of a small church for over a year that was just starting out. We absolutely loved it! They never did get enough members to keep coming and eventually lost funding so the church had to stop operating. Our pastor is in the same boat as we are. We have raised money anonymously to help the pastor and his family recently(they have 5 children). We are lucky, we have no children yet. But unfortunately our own debts have got us hurting and we have not yet found a new church home.

I am sorry to hear that you are having difficulties. I would like to help you,but I am also in a situation where we are days away from loosing our home. While trying to find help for ourselves I came across some places that might be able to help you with your situation, If you have a Liheap program in your state, they might be able to give you crisis money to pay your light bill. Also there is a website that offers help with emergencies, I have listed it below www.modestneeds.org I know what you are going through, I to cannot get a loan, and more doors seem to be shutting than opening for us in our plight, we have always been the ones that helped someone in need and now find ourselves needing some help, it sometimes makes us bitter, but we try and go on. I hope that this information is a bit helpful to you, and wish you the best of luck.
