I loved waitressing. If I could make enough money to live on doing it, then I would probably never ask for another job. There are a lot of places that you can make tons of money and good tips and be set, but definitely not around here where I live. My first job ever was a waitress though and I lived in a busy tourist town, where people were always passing through. Our restaurant was always busy, and I would make at least $500 a week if not more! That is some fat cash for a 16 yr old! Anyways, the people were great, the atmosphere was great, and I just enjoyed meeting all the new people and seeing all the regulars on a daily basis!

I think that in your case waitressing was made all the more rewarding and memorable not only because of the pay, but if I were you I'd also say that since you were in a busy tourist town, meeting tourists from all over the world and sharing their different experiences and cultures would have been most interesting.

Thank you, I could see where waitressing could be very rewarding, and If you give good service you get paid good for it.

I am still young and havent had tried out many jobs yet, but my most memorable one has to be wokring at a fast food outlet, although the pay was meagre and the work quite meagre, i learnt alot about people to people communications and customer relations.

I used to work warehouse, Depal to be exact, and even though the work was tedious and repetative I loved it. It really builds character when strangers are put into a group to accomplish one goal. Basically we had to take merchandise off of pallets and label and send on a conveyour to the Shipping department. Its a lead or follow type of job but if you take the incentive to lead its a really good adventure.
