To wag or not to wag?

I share a red Dachshund female with my other half and for the most part she's a real sweetheart. Lately, she's been doing the most interesting things and earlier was no exception. I went to check on her and when I walked into the bedroom I see this spot on the bed going up and down. I placed my hand on it and felt her tail thumping against my palm. Upon pulling back the comforter, I discovered a wagging tail staring back at me and I just couldn't stop the laughter. Pulling it back further, I find that she is laying on her side wide awake and gave me the biggest puppy eyes that just made me melt and hug her. How often do you pets really do things that make you all happy and laugh? These simple pleasures are what make my day.

Hello WildHorses, I think there is no day when Binne doesn't make us laugh. She is such a clown and only looking at her tricksy eyes you know she's about to do something funny. The thing she does every day and can't stop us laughing is she sits on a chair next to the kitchen table and waits for the dinner to be ready. When we ask her to get down from there she raises a paw like she would say "come on, leave me here, I like the view".

Is she waiting for "her" dinner or yours? LOL

Both her and ours. Her dinner takes place in the same time with ours.

Pets, especially dogs can sometimes be the most interesting creatures. Our Pomeranian Reggie prefers males more than females, even though he is friendly to all, but just goes Crazy when my husband gets home. He will spend time with me while he is gone at work, etc. but when Rod gets home he goes nuts. But sometimes he will sneeze when you ask him if he wants to go outside and start jumping up and down. It is cute to watch.

Sounds like our Tiny. I have better control when it's just the two of us but when daddy comes home suddenly she totally forgets the training I have been teacher her and is all over him.

We live with Sadie hound and she rules this house. With out the laughter, caring and worry our home would be much less than it is. She keeps on time the walking of the dog, feeding of the dog and playing with the dog, at two AM she will give one sharp bark telling me to wake up and cover the cold dog. If we are both not in the house on time she will stand and the door and give the most hiddious howl until she has someone's attention and reassurance that the missing person is coming. Ours is a life ruled by dog for sure.

Ah, yes, the howl would definitely get on the nerves until she gets your attention and based on your reply you are suckered! Tiny will bark at the door if she hears someone outside regardless of whether or not they are coming to our door. The more you tell her to hush it, the more she continues until you open that door. I'm still working on breaking that habit.
