Do you do Tasks? Or do you assign them?

I thought I would go to my fellow Mylotteres for a few answers about the tasks here at My Lot!
I just completed my first task here. It was awarded I believe .02 which is just fine for the amount of time that it took to complete the task. It was a simple one in which I watched a video on YouTube and commented on it.
My question is: Is this really worth spending time doing on MyLot? What is the real point of these tasks? Who am I helping here by watching this video? Who is paying for this and why?
While I enjoy a little break in the forum scene every now and then I just wonder if it is really worth it to spend the time.
Do you set tasks for people, and if so, how does that work? Is it for the sole purpose of getting people to a website? If so, I think that it is a pretty good way to promote a site, which is what a lot of people here on My Lot are doing anyway. How much does this cost?

I normally do Tasks - the easy ones only. Commenting on the posts or video or digging the post. I don't mind I know they're getting exposure, traffic and all these that might be beneficial for them. A little help that will give me a few cents is just fine with me.

I guess if your going to be on the computer surfing or whatever, you may as well earn a few cents and help out a fellow earner at the same time!

Tasks like article writing are good. But they want improvisation and pay little. It is not worth taking trouble to write article for 0.70$ for 400 words. Even in India we get Rs. 80 per page for article and other works which works out to $1.6
The type of tasks you mentioned --I do not take up because they are not worth it- they simply collect email ids and phone nos to send junk mails.
For USA people time you get $2.50 for 500 words that is good but expectation is very high.

I am very interested in finishing the task in Mylot. I often check whether there is a suitable task for me to complete. It is an easy shortcut to earn extra in Mylot in a short time. Although most tasks are not worth so much, but it is still better than posting here.

Successfully completing the tasks is a way for enhancing the earnings here on myLot. I do take a look at the list of available tasks every now and then. If I find some that I feel confident about, and if the payment amount is attractive, I would take it.
