Many people have used this phrase to described a person, "Never judge a book its cover." I just found a new meaning of it. A few days ago, I was socialize with a couple of good friends, and another friend of my good friend bumped into us in a restaurant while we were waiting, which is a girl, and really good looking and dress fashionably too. After brief introduction, and we engage conversations, while in the conversations, she was talkative, and using many cursed words, like the one with "F" a lot. We were a bit surprised, and sometimes we just laugh about it. I mean, I never thought that she can talk like this with her look. I thought at least she is more educated in this way. Oh well, she is friendly, but sometimes, we are at a public place, we trying to avoid to used this "F" word to not attract attention. Never judge a book by its cover.

Hi! kingparker. I thought you were trying to tell us a new meaning of that phrase "don't judge a book by its cover." Still, what you're saying is the same thing. It also describes a person and that is, the girl you were talking about. We really can't judge a person by his/her physical appearance alone. He/she can be the most beautiful/handsomest person in the world but what is inside of him/her rots. What is really important is the attitude of a person and how he/she cares and respects people. Although, we really can never tell, maybe that girl was just so talkative, noisy and saying a lot of cursing words but in her heart, she is still kindhearted. We really can't tell.... Have a great day!

That is rather true. Given that there are a lot of people who wear the mask of benevolence but they are an out and out con artist. There are just many people who look like nice people. Yet, they are going to cause you some amount of harm. On the flip side, there are people who seem like they are a bit suspect, they are a bit off but when you actually do get to know them, they seem to be rather nice and approachable people. There are just many sides to each and every people. Now granted, there are times where what you see is what you get and there is really nothing more than that. However, there are just other times where people are going to really be a bit more hard to figure out. I think that is by design. Until you get to know some people, the only thing sure about some people is nothing is for sure. And that is really all that there is to that. You cannot really judge a book by its cover. Or even a crook by its cover.

Yes, so we cannot judge a person by just the outer covering, just wait for them to speak and do their mannerisms and you will still discover a lot of things from the person. When I meet new people, my first impression always are just first impression because there are still more you will see later on.

That saying sure is true. We should never judge a book by its cover. We shouldn't judge a person just by the way she dresses or how she looks. Looks can be very deceiving.

Hi there... There're some people who take pleasure and pride in using bad words... I use bad words due to habit... I've become so used to it that it has become a joke among my friends... Education has got little to do with it. It is more related to culture...

LOL, What the F is wrong with using the F-ing F word? I don't see an F-ing problem with it. I F-ing say it all the F-ing time. You see what I F-ing mean? I can see how that can become very annoying with someone in public no less. I was just joking here to bring out your point as to how embarrassing and annoying it is. LOL. I hope you're okay with it.

Maybe she was trying to be funny and make friends, she thought that using those words in a funny way would may you guys be more friendly. I hope that you are not meaning that the interior of the book was rotten.

Yes, never judge a book by its cover. The cover is just the outer covering and you don't know the contents of it. Just like what you have found out, the looks or the physical beauty is not the totality of a persons personality. While first impression is lasting, it can still change when you get to know the person thoroughly. Looks can be deceiving. So, don't be fooled by good looks. There are sill a lot of things you need to know. It's like jumping into a conclusion when you have not yet read and analysed the problem. Anyway, we learn form our mistakes and we continue to learn everyday of our lives. Have a great day!

You should not only judge a book by it's cover but it is a fact that the first impression people make is what is counting the most. And this is not only made by the kind of clothes made, we also register character/attitude during these first seconds we meet/see someone. No need to already start judging or accusing people for something but it's also not a great idea to ignore your feelings/intuition. People who do so will be easily fooled and in the end they will find out that their first impression was right.

So right, you can't judge a book by it's cover and I don't suppose we should be judging people if they swear a lot or not but I would not like to be in the presence of people who swear in public either. In my view if people swear, it's because they don't know how to express themselves without swearing. It's such a shame don't you think.

Hahah, it's like meeting someone so elegant, classy and beautiful/handsome then suddenly laugh so hard resembling the sound of a pig. It's really a turn off. But sometimes they're fun to be with

That is true. I some cases, the attitute that is portrayed by some people is not what exactly there are. Sometimes it depends on the situation and vulnerability.
