I am now the new owner of the printer "Epson Stylus SX125". I have just installed the drivers, not I have paid it a lot. Works with 4 different ink cartridges: black, magenta, yellow, cyan. To know if I made a good purchase, I will be able to tell in the coming days. Still I could not test all its functions (which however are not many). In the near future I'll write a more complete review on the merits and defects of the unit. You, by chance, know it and know if it is valid ?

Hi, First, Congrats on the purchase of a new Printer. It is very true that the ink goes dried if not used for a longer period of time. If you are really not using the printer, you can remove the cartridges from the printer and store it in the same package and seal it. By doing this, the ink in the cartridges will not dry off. Also, if you fear about the consumption of the ink while printing the documents, you can make the changes in the Printer settings to use minimal amount of ink for printing. Anyways, scanning does not need any amount of ink, so it is not an issue while you are using the Scan feature. I have no clue if this model has the scanning feature. Enjoy Printing! Santosh.

I had a printer and was so good until the ink finished, I couldn't buy the real ink because it was too expensive and after the third ink that I bought the printer got damaged. Original or good quality Epson ink cartridges are always good for your Epson printers. Always use high quality or reliable Epson SX125 cartridges. There are many compatible Epson cartridges manufacturers that can provide you with very good quality Epson SX125 cartridge at much lower cost. All you need is proper search in find a dependable vendor. Cheap cartridges for Epson SX125 will not only damage your printer but you will also have to compromise on quality when using them.

Yes. I was having a similar Epson Stylus printer - same four cartridges. Each cartridge use to cost $10 or so. Probelms with this: 1) One has to be using it regularly. Print at least one or two pages every day so that you use the ink. otherwise ink will get dried without using it. 2) sometimes black cartridge alone will get emptied. it required changing other cartridges also. 3) it is good for scanning or xeroxing a page or two urgently. Printer manufacturers do it keeping our need to buy cartridges in mind--they can earn more. In India it is better to get printing done by others you get 40 fifty pages printed for $1. For people like me who do not have regular workload printer is not suitable. A few years back I was having HP inkjet printer. that was god because we can refill cartridges at 2 $. It will pring 200 pages. that was quite good. later on company stopped making such printers. we have only second hand ones in the market which may or may not be good. Whether the cartridge is refillable-if the answer is no it works out costly and ok for people who can afford it.
