Do all republicans believe government doesn't create jobs?

There are many people out there that believe that they do, and just as many believe that they don't. But, here in Ohio we have people that normally don't believe this, but all of the sudden do believe it. Recent ads by a right wing group say that by making state employees pay more for their health care, and pensions it will create jobs. Now the right wing governor who has supported this group, and praised them, has been called out on this notion, and has shot it down. But, this group that has run numerous false ads, and ripped by almost every newspaper in the state, continues to try to manipulate voters. So are these republicans lying about government creating jobs to get what they want, or do they really believe that government DOES create jobs? http://www.youtube.com/user/BetterOhio#p/u/2/bk1Obr-6DaA

Doing so has saved the jobs of thousands of teachers, school administrators and other state employees here in Wisconsin. In fact, the ONLY school districts that are laying off anyone are those who rushed to push through union contracts before Walker's "Act 10" went into effect. Now many of those same districts are trying to get the unions to let them out of the contracts, so they can avoid even more lay offs. More jobs will be saved soon. Many teachers and administrators have retired in their 50s, then were rehired in the same job they "retired" from. They are not collecting both salary and pension (and accruing even higher pensions for when the "retire" again). Those positions will soon be vacated, allowing the hiring or promotion of others. I don't know the details of the Ohio plan, but if they are anything like Wisconsin's, I suggest you support them... lest Ohio become like Illinois.

Oh, and in answer to your question. No, not all Republicans believe that government doesn't create jobs. However, a lot of us know that government only creates government jobs (which are necessary, but only if they are Constitutional and necessary). Most of us also know that too much government pressure on the private sector DESTROYS private sector jobs. For me, I don't think Obama and most of the left give a crap about private sector jobs. They only care about public sector unions, and promoting the corruption that those unions have created.

The only thing this bill COULD do is save GOVERNMENT jobs, it WILL NOT create any private sector jobs. Are you trying to tell us that the public sector is the only one that is corrupt? Last time I checked it WASN'T public sector employees that DESTROYED the economy, and are still free men.

Well, that is up to you, but you also need to make sure you don't make perfect the enemy of good. Yes, the elitists in Columbus should include themselves in the cuts. I agree. However, if the plan could save millions, prevent layoffs and expose corruption and fraud against the taxpayers, then it's still worth supporting... but yes, by all means, do continue to call for the elitists to include themselves. The stimulant packages were only ever meant to save government jobs, union leaders (not necessarily members) and pay off political buddies. There was nothing in if for "Shovel ready jobs". Just as there is nothing in this latest bailo..er, I mean "Jobs" bill that has anything to do with getting Americans back to work.

Hey thegreatdebater, its been a while but I can still see you are spooning with the Dems and how their tanned savior Barry Obama is going to save this world from itself. The government has never created a private sector job, isn't that what you meant? The government creates jobs, to help fund the government but they do not create private sector jobs, those would help the people who don't believe that the government is a cradle to grave right. Only hard working, tax paying employers can do that, but, wait, let's tax the crap out of those "evil" business owners so they can't hire anybody.

Actually, it is a 520 run by hard core right wing republicans that are lying to the people of Ohio saying that passing this BS legislation will create jobs by cutting spending on teachers and public safety officers. Last time I checked, republicans bashed don't believe that governments create jobs, so spending less money on teachers wouldn't create jobs. I MIGHT and I stress the words MIGHT, save jobs, but it will not create jobs. But, we all know that lying to the people about what you are going to do is a winner, no matter what party they are in.

I can't speak to any of the back-and-forth stuff about how Ohioans feel about government creating or not creating jobs. But everyone I've ever met who believes government doesn't "create" jobs just means that they don't create self-sustaining, profitable jobs. Sure, any government can create new positions and use taxpayer money to pay those positions. But some, like me, wouldn't call that "creating" a job as much as it is another form of stimulus spending/distribution.

Here is the problem in Ohio, the group trying to push this BS legislation through is lying to the people who are hurting for jobs. If this legislation was legit they wouldn't have to lie to people about it. We all know this isn't going to create any jobs, but when you put something on TV they tend to believe it.

I wouldn't not say that the government doesnt create job. I think it does but the problem is not the type of job that most people are looking for. This make it more or less the same that most people are not employed.
