Diaphragms and Cervical Caps

I never hear of women wearing diaphragms and cervical caps and I wonder why. It seems like a fairly easy method of birth control. It is definitely one I consider since I really don't like doing anything that will change my hormones. Are there any women here who use a diaphragm or cervical cap? The sponge seems like a pretty useful method, but no one ever talks about it and it's more difficult to find info on it than hormonal methods, probably because not many women use them.

Diaphragms and cervical caps are barrier methods of contraception. They were popular in the 20th century but they are really uncomfortable to use. Pills and depot contraceptives are common in my part.

I used the intrauterine method called T I expended 4 years with that and it was very efective. They are usually shaped like a "T" — the arms of the T hold the device in place. There are two main types of intrauterine contraceptives: those that contain copper (which has a spermicidal effect), and those that release a progestogen (in the US the term progestin is used).
