Best childhood games?

Philippines

So, there's this school event which we'll be holding in a few weeks. Our committee decided on the theme "Back to Childhood days". As the leader of the committee, I wanted to list down the best of the best childhood games of different countries. I didn't want us to be limited on our traditional games alone that is why I'm here asking your help. The things I need is: 1.) The name of the game 2.) Why you enjoyed the game? (Ex. "I loved it because I was able to meet new people",etc.) 3.) Rules/Procedures (Optional. I'll be the one to research this if you didn't want to provide it. Giving the name is more than enough help.) Thank you very much! I appreciate even the tiniest suggestions. Have a nice day! :)

I don't know if it is a childhood games but you might want to try "a pinoyhenyo games" where the answer will be on your forehead, while asking a clue for a partner that already knows the answer, she o he should answer a no or yes and maybe.

haha! I love this game! We play it in the office too! I don't like the "thing" category because it is always so hard to guess! _

Thank you for the suggestion. Will take note of this. Will probably research about it first though. I'll check if we'll be able to insert this in our program. Seems like a simple yet interesting game!

Oh I played a lot of childhood games when I was young. most of the games me and my friends simply made up based on story books. Our favorite game was probably hide and seek. Pretty much one person is the seeker and everyone hides and the seeker has to find them. We made the game a little more exciting by adding tips in there too in which the seeker must tag the hider in order for them to be out. We weren't allowed to run in the primary school playground. So we were pretty much rebels trying to run when the teacher wasn't watching. We sometimes fell and scrapped our knees but nothing bad. There was this other game called murderer in the dark, not a very childlike name for the game but I played it a lot with my friends when I was a kid, I still play it now sometimes You basically go into a dark room, blindfold someone and then hide around the room and try not to be touched by the person who was blindfolded.

Kinda reminded me of "Cops and Robbers" game. I doubt we'll be able to play this game though. Hahaha...I fear a guy in blindfold might enjoy too much and might spoil the fun. Though, it might be possible to include this in one of the booths but we'll probably separate male and female; or at least, everyone playing must know everyone else. We need to be a little careful since majority of the players will be young teenagers. Or maybe, we could file a disclaimer or something...Hehehe! Well, I'll try to let them consider this but we'll probably discuss it first. Thank you for suggesting! :)

My favorite game growing up was Battleship. I liked it because my dad and I always used to play it growing up. The way the game works, (as you may know), is that you set up your peg ships on this little bored, and you try to guess where the other person placed their ships so that you can sink them. You guys letters and numbers until you have the correct location or a good guess of where it is. Once you have all of the pegs, you sink their ship. It's an awesome game...I'm a girl and I even like it still!

This is a board game, right? I was able to try this a few years back. I really enjoyed playing this with some random people in the net. Got to meet a few friends with it too. A memorable game for me. I doubt we'll be able to get this in the program though but might ask for it on some booths. Board games has to be one of the best games to play with friends and not everyone loves running around. Thank you very much for your suggestion! :)

Oh! I'll be sure to research traditional games from the Philippines. I have quite the list for it atm. We even discussed whether we'll make it into a Philippines-inspired event; but to be fair to other nationalities, we decided not to push through with it. I'm sure the Philippines is a very interesting place. Thank you very much for replying!

A classic game and a sure slot on our must-include-game list. I'm pretty sure most of the participants know about this game. We're still deciding whether it'll be 1 "IT" or item-based Hide-and-Seek. Thank you for the suggestion!

One of my favorite childhood games was Red Light, Green Light. I liked it because a lot of people could play it at once. It was fun and funny. The rules were that everyone stands at the starting point and they are the cars. There is one person at the opposite end that is the caller/traffic light. When that person says green light everyone goes until the person says red light at which time they have to stop until the person says green light again. The caller goes back and forth saying red light or green light. The person that gets to the caller first is the winner and then becomes the caller.

I seem to remember this game from some horror movie. I forgot the name though. Hahaha! I get chills remembering that movie. Hahaha! Though, I think it was in a different language. I don't think I want to remember that movie but I will research this in school most probably. I fear I might freak out if someone suddenly taps my shoulder while researching it at home alone. Heheh...

Yeah! I know this game too. It's a classic but I don't think we'll be able to put this on our program. Thank you very much for suggesting! I really appreciate the small gesture. :)
