Indian team started the match with a good team. All big guns were back in the team. But the bowling line up was not much experienced. There were two debutant for indian team in bowling, ashwin and yadav. Ashwin made a superb performance by picking 9 wickets in his first test match. Indian batting in the first innings was disappointing, india gave a 95 runs lead for westindies. But bowled well in second innings and made westindies all out for 180. India was to chase a target of 276 in the 4th innings of the match that too in a low bouncy pitch. In the second innings indian team batted sensibly and put up a good performance to beat westindies with one more day left in the match. Viru gave good start in both innings, scored 55 in both innings. Dravid and gauti also played well. In second innings sachin played a special innings of 76 which helped india to won the match. Laxman supported sachin with a well made half century.all together it was a superb performance from india and made a lead of 1-0 in the series.

Are you questioning sachin's talent? the new comer after sachin's wicket scored 18 and got out. Sachin was well set and batting very well towards the end of his innings. even the new coming yuvi scored 18, cant the set sachin score 24 out of 43 runs?? And Sachin's age is not at all a big factor, do you know when did he scored 200 in ODI?? its not on his 20's. its on this late 30's. And please do check out sachin's last three year's records and run scores in test matches...

After the turmoil they had in first inning INDIA played good and it was aswin twho give them an edge to beat West indies very easily. Good contribution from sachin and Laxman as well. Second inning was very Good as we had good start from shewag and gambhir. Also wall support little in middle and it was all sachin and laxman who done everything to make sure we have a lead of 1-0. Can't take awya credits from the bowlers who bolwed well in first inning as well as they do very very well in Second inning. Aswhin was fully magical in this test his debut test and for which he got man of the match ward and he deserve it.

U Yadav was not a big success in the first match. But he bowled well in the 2nd innings compared to the 1st innings....

I appreciate Indian Team for having won the First Test match against West-Indies. I wish Sachin had scored 100 as he was a bit close. Hats-off to Dravid. I think West-Indies cricket board should re-consider their decision, as they are actually losing a lot by not having Chris Gayle in their team.

India played well and got the victory. surely WI team really miss Gayle. How can a board avoid a player of Gayle's caliber. In this test if he was in the team, it might have really made a big difference.

In the end it turned out to be an easy win for India. India was always the favorite to win the match, but the first innings collapse gave the Windies a reach chance to upset the applecart. But they failed to capitalize and Ashwin cashed in with 6 wickets in the second innings to pick the Man of the match award. Cheers! Ram

Ya after india's poor performance in first innings, westindies had am upper hand. But due to the poor performance in their 2nd innings they lost the hold. Even then it was not easy to chase a 250+ in the 4th innings of a test match. But indian batting stood up and chased it easily.

A very good win for India coming from behind after conceding a mammoth 95 runs lead in first innings and chasing a target of 276 in final innings on Kotla pich. It is indeed a commendable win. The debutant Ashwin played a big roll in the win by claiming nine wickets in the match. He along with Ojha who claimed seven wickets in the match did not allow the absence of Harbhajan to be felt. Ashwin is rightly adjudged the man of the match. The batting supremacy of India has to be equally credited for this win. First the openers Veeru and Gauti gave India solid start in both the innings. The importance of a solid start in a chase like this need not be over emphasized. Rahul Dravid played an anchor roll in first innings and played his part in second innings too. Sachin Tendulkar, although could not contribute much in the first innings, played in key roll in achieving the target. The innings of VVS was equally important. To sum up it is a great win. West Indies also deserve a praise, they dominated the match for first 2 days. It was only the bitter batting failure in the second innings that loosened their grip on the match and inexperienced bowling line up could not defend the big target on a low bounce turning track.

Ya India came back strongly after the poor performance in first innings. Also its a good come back as a team after that big loss in England. So Indian team is Back on Track.
