I thought it would be fun; but I had to call my best skills into play!

Hello myLotters. Has such a thing happened to you as well? You plan a leisure travel or something with great excitement thinking it would be fun and then when you set out, you encounter something that you never anticipated nor were prepared for?
We planned a short weekend travel [just the previous one] to a very famous hill resort and I decided to drive myself. I had a fair amount of guess that the car had to be driven up hill and may be even quite steep too. But until I began the drive uphill, I had not known that I had to negotiate thirty six [I said 36] hairpin bends, each one on a steep gradient!
I have traveled to hill stations in coaches but never imagined how skilled the driver had to be. It is a 7000 ft [above mean sea level]hill with vehicles coming onto you downhill all the time.
The car had to be perfect, the anticipation had to be perfect and the maneuvering had to be precise. And the intermittent rain had the roads wet as well.
I had to call my best driving skills and have the sharpest instincts in place. I did acquit myself well though I felt I should have been better prepared [mentally].lol
All for the sake of a wonderful treat in a heritage town with wildflowers and waterfalls.
Had a similar or identical experience? Good to hear from as many people.

Hello Pushhyarag,
I had also encountered that one. Me and my family planned to go to beach and we were all excited because it's been a long time that we never had gone to beach. We prepared delicious foods and some things needed for an overnight stay. But while we're on our way to beach, our car lose controlled because of a big rock. Then my father who was the driver tried to overcome the big rock which was fallen on our way. It's 6 o'clock in the evening when we arrived at the beach. When we look for the foods, they were all scattered on the back of the car. My mother was frustrated. We are hungry, but we just buy some fish and grilled it. After all, the night was good because we just enjoyed the cool water of the beach.

That was really terrible! Losing all the food prepared with such love & care for the family to enjoy.
Such unexpected incidents can spoil the fun. I'm happy you had a good time later.
