Honest work... what are your considerations to be happy in your current job?

Usually, when I enter a company, I am excited and hopeful that everything will work out right. When I entered here in my current company, I saw the people who had stayed long and for more than a decade. Then during my stay for almost two (2) years, my interest waned. I attributed it to the factor that my immediate superior is not an honest man and I can no longer take his type of management. I always wonder why some people stayed long in the company. The longest time I stayed in my previous company was with my first job. I stayed there for more than 5 years. I just got tired of the usual things that I do and wanted new tasks and projects to achieve. From then on, I can no longer stay in one company for more than 2 years. How about you? Have you stayed long in your current job? What are your considerations in staying long in your current company?

i prefer a job that requires a lot of thinking (designing, analyzing, innovating, etc.). it would kill me to do a boring repetitive task..

Hi carsocmaguinsay. You will not find difficulty finding such. Actually, with your attitude towards work, these are the things that most HR practitioners look for. Have a nice day!!!

2 years is too long for me to stay in a particular company. And now I am almost a year in current work, I plan to stay here cause I think this type of job really suits my interest and it's not that boring and i happen to access the internet so there's no problem in my part even if I stayed longer than usual.

That's good vexxus. You know, when you find a good company to work for and you feel comfortable and happy with it, take my word, don't leave it. I once worked for a Japanese company that pays well and I had a very good manager. However, I left because of some personal complications. But I regretted that move. I should have stayed and dealt with my personal issues. However, that is in the past already. I do hope that I'll find another company that I can be happy with. Wish me luck!

Usually that happens a lot when you have trouble with your co-worker you began to lose your interest on the work. Especially if your colleagues are also complaining about the job. Perhaps for some people staying longer on the job is their passion also and they enjoy what they do. Another factor is the relationship with the coworkers. Some also stays because of the benefits that they will get after their retirement. I don't stay long from my previous job because I cannot see that I will prosper on my job that's why I quit. If I didn't quit my job perhaps I am so stressful to this day and won't have any saving as I have now than what I have while working in that company.

Hi airkulet. You are very accurate with the assessment that I'm not so happy with some of my co-workers. I like what I had been doing for the company and its people but there are those who envied my position. And because of it, I let them be. I resigned and then now that my last days with the company is nearing, they are asking me to stay longer. But I am tired already with their jealousies. I am now in the mode of finding job. I also have this idea of working from home. I was hoping to find an online job from Odesk or at least a consultancy job. Thanks for your comment. I hope that someday, I'll be able to earn as well and have savings. I usually spend more money when I am working. I have to pay the cab, the food, the clothes to wear (stockings included. Lol.) and other expenses that are not actually not necessary. If I find a better source of income, I'll make it as a career. But as for now, what is necessary for me is to get out of my misery, establish a source of income or find new job and do the things that I needed to do. Have a nice day!
