this is a speech from famous bung tomo when British attacked surabaya, then become hero's day on november 10th 1945. in the name of GOD to all people over Indonesia especially the brethren resident of Surabaya we all already know that today British troops have been spreading pamphlets that provide a threat to us that give an ultimatum to us surrender of weapons which we had taken from the Japanese army they have asked that we come to them with hands raised they have asked that we all come to them with carrying the white flag Brothers and Sisters in the past battles that we all have demonstrated the people of Indonesia in Surabaya young men who came from the Moluccas young men who came from Sulawesi young men who came from the island of Bali young men who came from Borneo youths from all over Sumatra Acehnese youth, youth Tapanuli, and all Indonesian young men in Surabaya in their each force with the forces that created on villages have shown a defense that can not through have shown a strength, so they were stuck everywhere only because of they sneaky tactics to bring the president and the other leaders to surabaya then we cease fire and after strong,now here's the situation for all my brothers we are in surabaya will accepted the british challenge and if the leadership of British troops in Surabaya want to listen to the answers of Indonesian want to listen to answers all youth in Surabaya listen british troops!!! This is our answer This the people of Surabaya answer This answers of the Indonesian youth to you!!!! hi british army you want us to bring white flag to you you told us to come to raise our hands You told us to bring the weapon that we have taken from japanese army demands that even though we know that you will once again threaten us to demolish our existing strengths but this is our answer: during indonesian bull have red blood!!! that can make a piece of white cloth of red and white!!!! then it would not be willing us to surrender to anybody!!!! Brothers and sisters of the people of Surabaya ready! this is critical situation! but I warn you once again do not start fire!!!!!! just wait until they fire us !!!! then we will attack them, show that we are really want to be independent And to our brothers and sisters we better destroyed than not independent our motto still: independence or death!!!! And we believe my brothers victory will surely fall into ours because God is always in the right believe me brothers and sisters God will protect us all Allahu Akbar! Allahu Akbar! Allahu Akbar! INDEPENDENCE!!!! my hair got stand up when heard it, my soul shaken, and my respect to our heroes raising. I heard on an audio version he told: DONT AFRAID TO FIGHT!!!
