This was a test match which was having so many ups and downs for both teams. The thrilling encounter ended with two superb centuries And SA gained a 1-0 lead in the series. The test started on 9th of November but ended on 11th.The third day of the match started smoothly and didn't produce any big surprises. The day fully belonged to SA and sealed the match with 2 days left. Looked like 11/11/11 is a lucky Date for South Africa as it gave a thrilling victory against Australia. After the collapse faced by SA in the first innings, Aus had the upper hand, but it didn't lasted long as Aus were all-out for just 47 in the second innings. At that point many said that its the problem with the pitch, but Amla and Smith proved that its is not the problem with the pitch. SA had a target of 235, SA started their second innings with confidence,Amla and Smith are the key for their success. Smith played a captains innings with an unbeaten knock of 101 and Amla find the right situation to hit his first century(112) against Australia. They together made a partnership of 195 runs. South Africa got a target that can be chased, with the help of some superb bowling philander, morkel, steyn. Philander picked 5 wickets for 15 runs in 7 overs. Philander got the player of the match award for his 3wickets in first innings and the 5 wicket haul in second innings.

Ya this test hold this rare record in the history of game. I think it happened due to the quality players in both team. both team fought hard, that resulted in this special scenario. many blamed the pitch, but in the end we can say that there is nothing wrong with the pitch, its simply the good cricket reflected on day 2. A Test may end soon in 2/3 days due to two reason 1. one team is very poor. 2. both teams are equally good and play high quality cricket. Here its the quality cricket, specially the master bowling performance from both team on day two was simply great, even the debutant contributed on it.

Day 3 also belonged to the Aussies. They bowled out the SA for just 96 runs and got a 188 runs lead. From there the day belongs to the SA.

I thought Australia is going to win as it was a vast target for SA of 235. Cause last two innings were too bad for batsmen. But at the end of the test we saw some quality bating performance from Smith and Amla.If Australia could not miss the catch of Amla then it would be a different history. But the best win the match as they show good bowling and batting in 2nd innings.

The match was going in the way of Aussies. But some fantastic bowling effort from the SA pacers changed the game. And Aussies dropped Amla, if not the game might have changed.

It was very easy going for South Africa on Day 3. It was almost as if Day 2 did not happen. Except for a dropped catch of Amla by Watson, the bowlers could not create more chances. Amla capitalized with a fantastic attacking century, followed by Smith. Vernon Philander became the second bowler in a week to bag the Man of the Match award on his debut after Ashwin did it against West Indies. Cheers! Ram

SA batted very brilliantly in day 3 and won the match superbly. Amla and Smith played well and scored centuries to secure the SA victory. And Philander bowled superbly.....

What an amazing test match, the cricket at its best. The side taking a first innings lead of 188 looses in less than two and half days. Who would have thought that South Africa, shot out for 96 runs conceding a lead of 188 runs, could win that test match but that is the glorious uncertainties of the great game. Retrospecting the last three days of cricket, I feel the complacency on the part of Australia has lead to their downfall. After taking the first innings lead of 188 they must have thought the game is all but in their pocket and that feeling must have developed some sence of complacency within themselves. I do not wish to take away anything from the superb bowling effort from South Africa but in the game of cricket or for that matter in any sport if you allow the opposition an inch they grab a yard and you can never get back into the game. That has been seen time and again in sports arena. With this win South African spirits must be on high but I hope the Australians, the fighters as they are, would fight fiercely and get back in to the series by winning the next match. All the best to them.

Yes, this was one of the best test match. This is a perfect example which shows that Cricket is a game of uncertainty. After the half way mark Aus was on the top, from there the SA started playing the game.... They came back very strongly. It is a rare situation in which a team gets a first innings lead of 188 and ends up in the losing side. We have witnessed some quality cricket. This is the TEST cricket.

Hi This match was surely full of ups and downs. I haven't seen the match but when I read about it in news I just shocked. I mean both have made that low score.. But South Africa have really done well after getting all out in just 96 runs in their first innings. Yes may be those 6 ones day was lucky for them.

This match was completely with some Up and Down. SA were 188 runs behind the match and won it superbly. Full credits for them...
