What was the most recent one you got,and was it a pleasant or unpleasant one?
I just had an Electrician in to check out a problem with the heating while getting my system ready for winter..He did the job and left, and only a few minutes later was back to the door to show me a bunch of keys he'd found, either in his toolbox or in the van,I presume, with a car key on it,to ask were they mine?!
(They weren't!
) So now he has to retrace his steps to his previous job and explain how he managed to pick up somebody else's car keys...

You can just picture the car owner racking their brain as to where they left those blasted keys!

He came back with 7 wrapped gifts, all for You? For No special reason like a Birthday or something? That would have been a nice surprise!

Yes, I love surprises! The most recent surprise I got was wonderful. I am a huge fan of Tim McGraw. Last year, I met him after one of his concerts and had my picture taken with him. Tim McGraw is such a nice person. I will remember that experience for the rest of my life.

I'm not familiar with Tim McGraw- A musician/Singer? how did meeting him after the gig come about? Did You get backstage, did he have a meet and greet,or did you just randomly meet him?
There was a popular Accapella group called "The Flying Pickets" some years back that I went to see..the line to get in to the theatre was around the side of the building, almost to the stage door, and while waiting,we recognised some of the members quietly exiting a car and going in the door behind us,and I recall someone in line asking "Shouldn't we scream or something?!"

Responding to the OP question, I would have normally said NO. We are conditioned to see outcomes or occurances that are on expected or predictable lines.
Until I heard a saying in a personality development training I attended which appealed to me profoundly. I keep recollecting it quite often:
Expectation brings sorrow; Surprise brings Joy
In the backdrop of such an insightful teaching, I have learnt to evaluate surprises in a different light. The quote is also well worth reflecting on again & again and for inculcating the essence in our living.

There was nothing expected or predictable about this..it was totally random!
Good that your personality development is working out for you...

Surprise gift giving works for both giver and recipient, don't you think? The giver gets pleasure from seeing the response the gift brings, and the receiver (Usually!) appreciates getting something they might like but were not expecting at that time..

I like surprises, well actually I love them. I also like surprising someone special to me. The most recent I got was a badminton racket from a friend for my birthday. The electrician must have gone crazy now just to look for the customer where he got those keys from. That would surely gonna double his job and will tire him Anyways goodluck and I hope your heater is done for this winter.

hopefully this week should see the heating sorted..The heating guy couldn't do his job because of an electrical problem,so I had to get the Electrician in..now He's got the electrical issue sorted out,I've to get the Heating guy back, and last time I spoke to him,his work van was due an annual roadworthiness inspection and was off the road for that time! Things never runs smooth..

everyone likes surprises when they're good... I've not had anything recently to note here... But yes, good surprises are always welcome... Take care....

Losing your car keys could really mess up your day-it was quite a big bunch from the glimpse that I got of them, just long enough to recognise they weren't mine..but there were house type keys on there too,so that's a whole lot of inconvenience for the owner if they had started looking for them in the time since the Electrician's visit..

I love surprises! In the kind of party sense or a present I love but, wasn't expecting. I try to make sure I give my hubby a lot of surprise for things like birthdays or Christmas but, sometimes it is hard when money is tight to do things like that!

I think that it would depend entirely upon the type of surprise that it is. I do like some things, for example when my partner brings me flowers before we go on a night out, but I don't like it when he plans things like trips to places as a surprise. This is because I like to be organised with things, and I don't like being given no notice before he expects me to go somewhere. Because I work from home, I have to work pretty much every day of the week to make sure that I'm making enough money to pay the bills, and if he drops a surprise holiday on me, then I don't get any payment for the time that I take off work.

Nyay, he picked someone's car keys.
Goodness.
I am so crazy when my youngest lost my car key or misplaced it.
Thu, I have my spare key, the fear that someone got it really gives me creeps.

It's an annoyance and inconvenience when you misplace keys when you have only yourself to blame..it's worse when someone else is responsible!
