A girl is a teenager or a female in her early twenties. She could also be called a young lady. A lady is a grown up female. A woman would be a lady of 20 to 100 plus. Children go to nursery from age 3 to 4, primary school from age 4 to 11 and to secondary school from 11-16. Some schools are mixed gender, others all boys and some all girls.

Hi shskumbla: That's an interesting question. For example, my little sister is 17 but for me she is just my 'baby'. I would say that a girl can be considered a woman since her 17s when she is at the right age to start her college years, but of course I know this is a social definition. ALVARO

In our state- Kerala, the colleges are known as women's college rather than girls college, so a girl above the age of 18 will be known as a woman only in formal letters and forms. Whereas in reference to family or friends, a prospective bride is always refereed to as a girl and not a woman. Areas may diff and I suppose in some areas girls are married early and imposed with household burdens when thy should b enjoying life, freedom and youth. Because some girls misuse youth and freedom, the rest are overprotected and their wings are cut, what a pity?

whats woman reservation? i think the difference is the maturity. a lot of people though say the difference is age. that when a girl becomes 18 [uk] and 21 [usa] then she is an adult. but i'm 24 and i still don't feel like a woman lol!

Hello, According to me,This is named after Age difference..A girl is named after a person who is girl who is below 18 years old..Above is called a women..Likewise A boy is below 18 years, above is called Men!!! It is considered as women in women reservation because Ticket is one and the same for a girl who is 14 years old and for women..So they use women while reservation!! Happy Mylotting!!!
