Why are vacuums so confusing?

I went to vacuum the other day. I plugged the vacuum in and I couldn't find the power button. I found the button to move the top of the vacuum downwards but I couldn't find the power button. I finally found it after about five minutes.... okay maybe I am exaggerating a little bit. I also have noticed that vacuum hoses are hard to figure out also. Every time I use a new one I have to sit and look at it for about twenty minutes. Okay I'm exaggerating again. No one likes to vacuum anyway. By the time you get the vacuum out and plug it in, then start vacuuming it takes a while. Not that long I guess but still it is not a quick chore. Plus you have to go over an over the spots on the carpet that are dirty before the carpet is really clean.

I know what you mean, it seems like the power button is in a different location on every vaccum. The upright vacuums you have to press the lever on the bottom with your foot to get it where you can vacuum. The ones with hoses either you have to connect the hose or you have to unwrap it each time, and don't get me started on the accessories / brushes that you can attach to the hoses. Vaccuuming is already a chore, but it seems like having to figure them out or get them to turn on is a chore in and of itself.

I don't know why vacuums are so confusing, they should mkae one that is very good and leave it at that! I clean people's houses for a living and every house I go ot has a different sort of hoover and they all pick up the dirt differently, some good and some not so good. I am always looking where yo turn them on and find the bits to do the other little jobs on them. It is very annoying sometimes, and then my hoover at home is different again and I have two hoovers at home, one ofr upstairs and one for downstairs and they are both different as well.

Yes that is exactly what I am talking about. All of them are different and the power button is always somewhere different. Some are good and some are not so good. It takes me more time to figure out how the vacuum works rather than actually vacuuming!

I assume because it's invented by a man who thinks different as a woman and they seldom use the vaccuum cleaner. Kick out your carpet, use a broom and wipe your floor clean. It's less annoying and you don't need to drag that heavy vacuum cleaner around with you. And you save energy and vacuumcleaning bags as well.

I am going to go with the answer that it is invented by a man who seldom uses the vacuum cleaner.
