Today is the birthday of our first prime minister of India ,late Pandit Jawaharlal Nehru . It is celebrated as the Children's Day in India as Pandit Nehru loved children and soon after becoming the prime minister he worked passionately for the welfare , education and development of children . He was very fond of children so children called him 'chacha Nehru'(uncle Nehru). Nehru was very keen in creating responsible citizens of India so he worked for the development of children and youth education .Many schools were built in the villages and free mid-day meals were introduced to prevent malnutrition of children . He made education of children free till primary level which was highlighted in his five year plan . Children's day is a tribute to children . They are our future . Children's are the world's most valuable resource and it's best hope for the future" - John Kennedy , 35th president of India

Hi friend... You right with whatever Kennedy had said but the attachment of Nehru;s name with children's day has no impact on my perception. It cant bring any sense to me. sorry. Have a nice time.

HI! It is true that the first Prime Minister of India was very attached with children and he started many schemes for them. He used to believe that Children are the future of India so we should try out best to bring them up in the best possible manner. He did many new things for the upliftment of children in India. However, in rural and backward areas children are not taken care of their parents and left to fend for themselves. No doubt the situation is better in semi urban and urban areas. dpk PS - You have quoted - John Kennedy , 35th president of India. I think he is from USA.
