Small ovens.

I'm thinking about getting a Remoska which is a small counter-top oven, like a specialised toaster oven. They are not all that cheap to buy so I'm also looking at small counter top ovens and wondering what would be a good buy for me.
I do a lot of cooking in the slow cooker (crock pot) and find I use the main oven less and less, basically only if I want to do a roast or for baking. However, it costs a lot to heat it up and a smaller oven might be the way to go. There are only two of us to cook for so we don't need anything big.
Do you use a toaster oven or something like Remoska for cooking? Does it help keep the bills down?

I have a convection / toaster oven. I would recommend getting one very much so. It has helped us keep our utility bill under control in winter. We mainly bought it one year as our oven wasn't regulating temperature properly and it was cheaper to buy than a new range. Between me being a stinker and turning down the temps in winter we were like $100/mo cheaper rather than running the oven, plus some line drying of clothes when I can helps too.

Honestly the only time I use the regular oven is if the meal I am making I cannot make it in a smaller pan using some other means. I do use the stovetop, microwave, convection/toaster oven, and slowcooker mostly. Like I said it's all about what I'm making and pan size.

Thank you for that. I think I might go with the remoska and get another more traditional toaster oven when (ha!) we can afford to remodel the kitchen. I might get rid of the big cooker completely as I mostly use the hob and grill and rarely the oven.
We use the slow cooker for anything the slow cooker is suitable for and use the oven for baking or roasting. Baking I can justify because I'll do a big batch at a time but anything else it seems such a waste to heat up a big space for the two of us.

I don´t know about your trademarks. But I do EVERYTHING in a small countertop electric oven. I can roast a chicken, make a pie or a cake, quiches and puddings, roast beef, you name it. It is less expensive because it heats easily and has a timer so once you learn how you like your food, you are across the bridge. I always use it in medium for everything, even if the recipe calls for high heat. I also use it to make dry bread crumbs for several uses with the stale bread (a lot less expensive than buying them and you can spice them before placing it in the oven). For that, I set the heat at low for a short time. I had to buy a couple of extra trays, measuring them before, as the oven is so handy that I usually use it for 2 or 3 dishes in a day and store some.

Mine is not much bigger than the computer screen. But is sure is handy. I have all my electrc gadgets at the counter because I´m too lazy to use them if I don´t have them at hand. And I love to cook.

I have a slow cooker and a rice maker, but I do not have a small oven, like a bread oven or something like that, if that is what you are asking? I would like to get one... one of these days, but I don't think that I can get one right now.

No I only have a big oven and I agree with you it does cost a lot to heat. I wonder who invented this oven. It's a weird size (under my stove) it's not possible to put 2 pizza's in it at the same time or 2 pots.
So all a waste of energy. That is why I don't use it frequently anymore and if I make more as just one thing so I don't really need to heath the oven just for 1 thing.
