Fairy Tales

Many of you already know about two new TV shows based on fairy tales. Because I don't have TV service (yup, too cheap) I haven't seen them. But yesterday I managed to catch them online... Once Upon a Time is "ok", in my opinion, but I didn't know that Snow White was a highway robber nor that Rumpelstiltskin changed Cinderella's life... Grimm, however, is excellent! I especially like his new friend, the "good" werewolf, and his attitude. I watched the first three episodes of each show, and I'll probably continue to watch them online (ctv.ca). Maybe I don't need to get cable or satellite, after all.

I enjoy both shows as well. "Grimm" I catch online, and I have to say that I too love the humor of his friend!! As far as "Once Upon A Time", it is really an interesting twist to the old stories. Another good one you might like to catch, either on tv or online, is "Being Human". It's on ScyFy, and it is about a vampire, a werewolf, and a ghost who are roommates, and trying to 'not be monsters'.

I haven't heard of that one... Don't you just love the outfits the wicked queen wears, though? Oh, to be that thin...

I like both, I actually prefer Once upon a time. Grimm isn't more true to the fairy tales of the brothers Grimm than Once upon a time is, but as they in addition use some very bad made ut German verbs, they annoy me a bit more :-) And then they can't pronounce the made up words in any sensible way either *grumble* Annoying! ;-)

Well, since all the German I know came from WWII movies and Hogan's Heroes... it doesn't bother me. But I must admit that at first I didn't know what they were saying when talking of blutbats. I tried looking the word up online (after I saw it on the show's website) and couldn't find anything. Now, of course, there's all sorts of references to it.

I watched a few of the episodes and they are quite interesting. I don't think to watch them often though

Though I have never watched this show, but have seen the commercials, as a writer I think the concept is very creative. I would love to be able to take an old fairy tale and write a new spin on it.

I do have cable, but I don't watch a lot of TV!!! However, I do keep my TV on most of the time I'm home to drown out the sounds of this old house settling & creaking My way of determining how good any movie or show is, is by seeing how much it draws my attention away from whatever I'm doing on my computer!!! The commercials for "Once Upon a Time" always seemed to initially grab my attention; however, if I paid attention to the commercials, I saw absolutely NOTHING to make me want to see more!!! One night when absolutely NOTHING was on TV, I turned to Grimm & I fell in LOVE with that show...now I make it a point to turn to it every week!!! My current computer is soooo freakin old, I can't watch TV shows or movies on it or it crashes. I've been saving up to buy a new one hopefully by the time they have the New Year sales!!!! I hope my new computer will allow me to watch what I've missed or I'll be able to stream a few movies off Netflix or Amazon. My current Pay Movie channels will allow me to stream some of their movies also & they are technically FREE!!!.

Well, I can't watch a lot on my Mac, but I just had the PC serviced this summer and it can run the newer Firefox, etc., so that's what I used last night.
